Excitied to share this glimpse of our time-lapse video in-progress inside the 'Saphire' ice cave in Southeast Iceland. Running a camera in a dark, wet and constantly evolving cave is challenging to say the least, but so far the footage has been worth it! Many thanks to our project partners and the ongoing support of the local guides who have helped make it happen. Takk fyrir - Kieran 😊📸🔦❄️

The Anthropocene plays out in many different ways. In Portugal these include an increased risk of severe summer fires. Observation towers like this one help to prepare and respond when the worst happens. Just six weeks of summer melt makes a big difference to the ash-covered glacier terminus of Breiðamerkurjökull. This is Iceland's third largest glacier and one of the most rapidly receding. Its relatively low altitude makes it particularly vulnerable to warming climate. - Kieran B
