Excitied to share this glimpse of our time-lapse video in-progress inside the 'Saphire' ice cave in Southeast Iceland. Running a camera in a dark, wet and constantly evolving cave is challenging to say the least, but so far the footage has been worth it! Experts have highlighted that the rapid rate of melting glaciers during the summertime has now significantly impacted recovery during the winter months.

Just six weeks of summer melt makes a big difference to the ash-covered glacier terminus of Breiðamerkurjökull. This is Iceland's third largest glacier and one of the most rapidly receding. Its relatively low altitude makes it particularly vulnerable to warming climate. - Kieran B
