📍 Suðurland 🇮🇸 Fræðslunetið was founded 1999 by municipalities, firms and associations in the area. The employs are 12 as well as up to 50 teachers and instructors who work on various projects on behalf of the center. The main office is located in Selfoss the largest town on the south coast. There are three offices as well on the south coast, in Hvolsvöllur, Vík and Höfn. The main purpose is to offer courses for adults, develop educational opportunities and to encourage people in the labor market to practice continuous education and job development. The center focuses on those who have not completed the upper secondary level of education. The objective is to enable individuals from the target group to obtain an education and improve their position in the labor market. Therefore Fræðslunetið offers Icelandic language and orientation programs with a wide range of courses at five different levels. Fræðslunetið also offers course curricula that is designed and developed by The Education and Training Service Centre - Fræðslumiðstöð atvinnulífsins. OUR COURSES:
Icelandic for foreigners (5 levels). Foreign languages for Icelandic speaking people, such as English, Norwegian and Spanish. General computer skills and more detailed computer courses. Handcraft and cooking courses. Formal (academic studies) like, Icelandic, Danish, English, Mathematics, ITC etc. We prepare our students so that they can apply for higher education (preparation departments at universities). Occupational courses for health-care and social services employees, and employees in schools or kindergartens. Education for adults with disabilities, long seminars and short courses. WE ALSO PROVIDE:
VPL (vocational prior learning) and carrier consulting. Educational guidance. Educational service for firms and organizations.
