Want to better understand your rights in Iceland?

If you’re an immigrant resident in the capital area or an international student planning to stay, this is for you. The My Vote – My Voice workshops focus on democratic rights more broadly, not only voting, but also how you can participate, influence decisions, and make your voice heard in society.

You’ll learn about the Icelandic political system, your rights as a resident, and the different ways you can engage with issues that affect your everyday life.

Whether you’re curious, unsure where to start, or simply want to get more involved, this is a space to learn, ask questions, and connect.

The International Committee invites all international students to an open meeting on Wednesday, March 4th at Veröld, room VHV-008.

Recent discussions regarding accessibility, representation, and fee increases have raised important concerns. This meeting is an opportunity to listen, better understand your experiences, and ensure that your perspectives are included in ongoing decision-making. We recognize that these issues directly affect your academic experience and sense of belonging at the university.

For those unable to join, Anna holds weekly office hours on Tuesdays and Fridays from 11:00–13:00, or contact [email protected] to arrange a meeting at another time.

In connection with The Equality Days, the International Committee and the Equality Committee of the Student Council are collecting stories from students for an exhibition titled SKÖRUN.

The exhibition focuses on intersectionality, how different factors such as gender, origin, language, class, sexuality, disability, or other circumstances intersect and shape our experiences within systems that are meant to be equal.
We are looking for personal stories from students.
Your contribution can be a short reflection, a single sentence, a text fragment, a poem, or an experience that has stayed with you.

We welcome all contributions, and all submissions will be treated with care and respect. By sharing your story, you help create an exhibition that reflects the diverse experiences of students.
