Attending the conference Football is Medicine: Active Aging Through the Beautiful Game - 2026?
Dr. Milos Petrovic presents "Football for Life: Profiling Speed, Power, Strength, and Agility in Older Recreational Players." This talk explores how older recreational football players preserve key aspects of physical function often thought to decline with age. Drawing on testing of speed, jumping ability, handgrip and plantar flexor strength, and agility, Dr. Petrovic will reframe ageing not as inevitable decline but as something that can be actively supported through sport and regular physical activity. The session offers practical insights for coaches, practitioners, and health professionals on identifying physical strengths and limitations in older players, designing better training programmes, and promoting football as a model for healthy, active ageing. A valuable session for anyone interested in performance, functional independence, and long-term wellbeing.
Dr. Runa Sif Stefansdóttir presents "Sleep Across the Lifespan: Why It Matters for Physical Activity, Health, and Healthy Aging."
This talk examines how sleep patterns evolve with age and explores the bidirectional relationship between sleep, physical activity, and healthy aging. Drawing on current evidence, Dr. Stefansdóttir will discuss how regular exercise can enhance sleep quality and share practical, evidence-based strategies for optimizing sleep habits across the lifespan.
A valuable session for anyone interested in performance, recovery, and long-term wellbeing.
Dr. Hildur Guðný Ásgeirsdóttir, Physical Activity Project Manager at The Directorate of Health, presents "Active Ageing in Iceland: Public Health Perspectives on Physical Activity and Social Connection." She'll share national data and official recommendations on physical activity, strength training, and wellbeing among older adults in Iceland, and explore how health-promoting communities and primary care can support active ageing through fall prevention, activity referral, and equal opportunities to stay active and connected.

Pr. Anthony Onwuegbuzie, University of Johannesburg, is the first author published in Frontiers in Psychology 2026 Research Topic: Best Practice Approaches for Mixed Methods Research in Psychological Science: Volume III.
“On Qualitizing Revisited” is a landmark article that fundamentally reconceptualizes qualitizing - the process of converting quantitative data into qualitative form - as far more than a mechanical transformation. Grounded in Critical Dialectical Pluralism 2.0, the paper reframes qualitizing as a recursive, meaning-centered, integrative process and introduces a 43-profile Narrative Profiling Taxonomy that brings numerical structures to life through interpretive narrative. A must-read for anyone working at the intersection of quantitative and qualitative research.
