New Board for RUMBA Alumni

At the General Meeting held on Monday, September 15th, 2025, a new board for RUMBA Alumni was elected. The board consists of six alumni members and one representative of current EMBA students at Reykjavik University.

Elected Board Members:

Chairperson: Viktor Alex Ragnarsson – re-elected
Vice Chairperson: Kristín Björk Einarsdóttir – newly elected
Treasurer: Vera Dagsdóttir – re-elected
Secretary: Helgi Björgvinsson – re-elected
Board Members: Daníel Óskarsson, Anna Lára Gísladóttir, Bjarni Valgeirsson

The new board looks forward to strengthening the RUMBA Alumni community, fostering connections between graduates, and enhancing collaboration with current EMBA students at Reykjavik University.

We had a full house of engaged RUMBA Alumni who actively participated in deep, thought-provoking discussions on diversity, inclusion, and the sense of belonging. The conversations went beyond the "what" to focus on the "how"—how we create environments where everyone feels truly valued.

One key takeaway from Dr. Lina Daouk-Öyry’s talk: simply adding diverse individuals to a team doesn’t solve the problem. It’s about fostering an environment where people feel they belong.

Aðalfundur RUMBA (English below)

Stjórn RUMBA boðar til aðalfundar félagsins þriðjudaginn 3. september 2024. Fundurinn fer fram í stofu M209 í Háskólanum í Reykjavík en einnig verður fundinum streymt á Teams.

Fundurinn hefst kl. 17:00

Stjórn félagsins skal skipuð allt að sjö einstaklingum. Formaður, ritari og gjaldkeri skulu kosnir til eins árs í senn. Aðrir stjórnarmenn skulu kosnir til tveggja ára í senn.

Áhugasamir eru hvattir til gefa kost á sér til starfa í stjórn og hafa samband.

Framboð óskast send á [email protected] að minnsta kosti degi fyrir aðalfund.

3. Lagabreytingar
4. Kosning stjórnar

RUMBA Annual Meeting.

The Annual General Meeting of the RUMBA Alumni will take place on 3. September 2024, in room M209 in Reykjavík University and will also be streamed on teams. The meeting starts at 17:00

The RUMBA Board consists of up to 7 members. The Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer are elected for one year, but other board members are elected for two years.

We ask for interested candidates to join the Board of the RUMBA Alumni. If you are interested, please send us a line to [email protected] the day before the Annual meeting.

2. Financial Statement
3. Legislative reforms
4. Election to The RUMBA Board
5. A short board meeting with the newly appointed Board of Directors starts at 17:30/18 as applicable and lasts for about 30 minutes.
