Chef Halldórsson took over Lindin Restaurant in 2002 which has become known as the ‘Mecca of Icelandic wild game’, priding itself on its year round menu featuring only wild caught fish and seafood, lamb from Baldur’s own farm ‘Lindarbrekka’ in North East Iceland and reindeer that Baldur hunts himself. Exotic dishes like grilled reindeer and cormorant with blueberry-aquavit sauce and arctic char tartare with coconut sauce are featured on the menu. Lindin is located in the village of Laugarvatn, right beside the lovely natural steam baths and pool at Fontana Spa. The 45 minute scenic drive from Reykjavik takes you through enchanting landscapes between Geysir/Gullfoss and Thingvellir, making this an excellent choice for a day’s journey.
