Presence of Iran in Beijing International Book Fair

The activities of the Iranian stand in the twenty sixth edition of Beijing International Book Fair started.
Also this edition of the book fair, was attended by the ICFI in a stand of 18 sq. m. based on a collaboration MoU signed between the two sides.
More than 250 Iranian titles winning domestic literary awards in the last years (World Book Award of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Jalal Al-e Ahmad Literary Awards, etc.) as well as titles in the field of Persian language teaching, Iranology, art, children and young adults, religion, and Holy Defense were showcased in the stand.
Introducing the Tehran International Book fair, Iranian Translation Grant, inviting international publishers to attend the TIBF as well as specialized forums were amongst the programmes considered for this book fair.
Alireza Goldouzian, the Iranian renowned illustrator attended the book fair as a referee in the Pineapple International Illustration Award and with their financial support while Afsaneh Sanei (illustrator) and Zahra Nematollahi (writer) the winners of Picture Book Illustration Contest in Iran were sent there with the financial support by the ICFI.
A forum between Iranian and Chinese illustrators (Pineapple International Illustration Award), teaching painting to children and holding illustration workshops by Alireza Goldouzian were amongst the programmes considered for the BIBF.
In this edition, as well as showcasing selected books, rights of three titles were sold to Chinese publishers. Also negotiations were made to sell the right of a two-volume book to a British publisher.

Presence of the ICFI in Seoul International Book Fair

Based on a free-of-charge stand exchange MoU, the ICFI attended Seoul International Book Fair in a stand of 18 sqm to showcase Iranian books in different fields such as Iranology, children and young adults, art and contemporary art.

Attendance of and a lecture by Ayoub Dehghankar –the executive consultant of the Cultural Deputy- in a forum titled "The Necessity of Publishing E-books and Audio books", having a meeting with the executives of Seoul International Book Fair and negotiating on the development of cultural collaborations as well as continuation of attending in the book fair of the other side, having a meeting with the head of the North Korean Translation Grant and agreement on translation of the other side works, having a meeting with North Korean and other foreign literary agencies attending the book fair, having a meeting with the Hungarian Cultural Ministry executives, having a meeting with the Hungarian Society of Publishers to negotiate on presence in the other side book fair, negotiations with the head of Guadalajara International Book Fair, negotiations with head of Taipe Society of Publishers, negotiations with the French Translation Grant manager, negotiations with the CEO of Veronica Publishing House from the USA, negotiations with professors of the Orientalism Department of the Seoul University, etc. were among the activities performed in the ICFI stand.
In addition, due to the negations with the North Korean publishers, it was agreed the literary works of the two countries are introduced by selected literary agencies to be translated and published by the other side.

In a meeting between Ghader Ashna and Director of the Turin International Book Fair, extension of Italo-Iranian cultural relationships was emphasized

Ghader Ashna, the viceroy of the TIBF and CEO of the ICFI had a meeting with Silvio Viale, the director of the Turin International Book Fair to talk about the development of the mutual cultural relationships between the two countries.
Introducing the TIBF, Mr. Ashna said, "The Tehran International Book Fair is the biggest cultural event in the Middle East with the largest turnover in the cultural arena of Iran." Ashna then pointed to the presence of Italy in the TIBF 2017 as the Guest of Honor to say, "Regarding the mutual collaborations, a space of 300 sq. m. was allocated to Italy so that they introduce their cultural capacities in the 30th edition of the TIBF and we witnessed a successful presence of Italy."
The CEO of the ICFI added, "The objective of attending the Turin Book Fair was to examine the qualitative and quantitative status of this book fair to see if our publishers can participate in the next editions of it and our country attends it as the guest of honor."

The 33rd Turin International Book Fair started on May 9, 2019.

The ICFI has attended this book fair to exhibit the capacities of the Iranian publishing industry.

According to the public relations department of the ICFI, the Turin International Book Fair has been started since 1998 and now it is considered as the most important international book fair in Italy. After the Bologna Book Fair, it is the second most visited book fair in Europe.
The guest of honor country at this edition of the book fair is Sharjah and Spanish is the guest of honor language.
In a stand of 16 sq. m., the ICFI is showcasing books in different genres such as Persian language teaching, Iranology, tourism, children and young adults as well as books translated into other languages.
