🩺Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) proudly took part in the inaugural Tehran 360 Health Tourism international event — the first national platform dedicated to promoting medical tourism and international health collaboration in Tehran.
The event was successfully held on February 17–18, 2025 (Bahman 28–29, 1403) at the historic Emarat-e Bladiyeh, with the presence of Dr. Arpi Manookian, Director of International Affairs and Development at TUMS. It brought together stakeholders, experts, and representatives from over 40 countries to highlight Iran’s capabilities in specialized healthcare, advanced research, and high-quality patient services.
As Iran’s premier medical university, TUMS showcased its world-class university hospitals, innovative research outcomes, and dedication to serving international patients. Through insightful sessions, networking, and experience-sharing discussions, important strides were made toward establishing Tehran as a reliable and competitive hub for health tourism.

Consultations Between Tehran University of Medical Sciences and Mongolia to Expand Educational and Healthcare Cooperation 🤝

A joint meeting between Tehran University of Medical Sciences and representatives of Mongolia was held with a focus on attracting international students and promoting cross-border health initiatives.
In line with strengthening health diplomacy and expanding the international engagement of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, a joint session was convened with the participation of Dr. Kourosh Jafarian, Vice Chancellor for International Affairs of the University, and the Honorary Consul of the Consulate of Mongolia. The meeting focused on exploring avenues for bilateral cooperation in the fields of education, research, clinical services, and public health.

Strengthening Regional Partnerships in Optometry – TUMS at MIOC 2025!

During the Muscat International Ophthalmology Conference (MIOC 2025), Dr. Masoud Khorrami-Nejad, Head of the Optometry Department, Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS), held constructive meetings with prominent regional leaders in optometry. His discussions with Dr. Nasser Alshamli of Oman, elected President of the Eastern Mediterranean Council of Optometry, and Dr. Waleed Al-Ghamdi of Saudi Arabia, President of the Saudi Optometry Association, opened promising avenues for collaboration.

The talks focused on strengthening academic and research ties, building sustainable regional partnerships, and advancing optometry education and scientific research systems across the Eastern Mediterranean. These engagements not only contribute to the development of a more connected regional network but also bring valuable opportunities back to Tehran University of Medical Sciences, enhancing its international profile and supporting its mission to promote excellence in education, research, and innovation in vision science.
