يعد كتاب ذكريات شتاء عن مشاعر صيف أحد كلاسيكيات الأدب العالمي وهو من أشهر أعمال الكاتب الروائي والفيلسوف العالمي الكبير فيودور دوستويفسكي، حيث انتشر هذ الكتاب وذاع صيته وتُرجم لجميع لغات العالم لتنتشر أفكار كاتبه في الأوساط الأدبية والثقافية المختلفة.
يعتبر كتاب ذكريات شتاء عن مشاعر صيف من أعمال دوستويفسكي الهامة، حيث تكمن هذه الأهمية في أن الكاتب يوثق في هذا الكتاب الذكريات التي مر بها في رحلته إلى أوروبا وزار فيها مجموعة من مدن أوروبا الكبيرة والشهيرة وقابل فيها الكثير من الأدباء المشهورين.

وعلى الرغم من الفرق الحضاري الكبير بين روسيا القديمة وأوروبا التي كانت مثالًا للتحضر، إلا أن دوستويفسكي لم ينبهر بالحضارة الأوروبية بل كانت الدعوة التي ينادي بها هي التمسك بقيم ومبادئ الحضارة الروسية والأخذ من الحضارة الأوروبية ما يكون وفق هذه القيم وتلك المبادئ.

In some circles in Paris he is known as "the Samuel Beckett of Africa"
Gregoire Nakobomayo, a petty criminal, has decided to kill his girlfriend Germaine. He's planned the crime for some time, but still, the act of murder requires a bit of psychological and logistical preparation. Luckily, he has a mentor to call on, the far more accomplished serial killer Angoualima. The fact that Angoualima is dead doesn't prevent Gregoire from holding lengthy conversations with him. Little by little, Gregoire interweaves Angoualima's life and criminal exploits with his own.
