UKH Holds Inaugural Industry Advisory Board Meeting
The University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH) held the inaugural meeting of its Industry Advisory Board on 10 June 2026, bringing together employers, company owners, representatives of organisations, and academic staff. During the meeting, the Board’s framework and objectives were presented, providing a platform for dialogue between the University and key stakeholders from a range of sectors.
The Industry Advisory Board comprises employers, industry experts, company owners, and representatives from various sectors. Its purpose is to discuss issues related to the future employment prospects of students and young people, while providing guidance on the development and introduction of academic programmes that respond to the current and future needs of the market in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq. Through this initiative, UKH aims to strengthen graduate employability, address skills gaps, support students in accessing career opportunities, and contribute to the economic development of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq across a range of professional and industrial sectors.

ئەنجوومەنی ڕاوێژکاری بواری کار
زانکۆی کوردستان هەولێر لە ١٠ی حوزەیرانی ٢٠٢٦ یەکەم کۆبوونەوەی ئەنجوومەنی ڕاوێژکاری بواری کاری بە ئامادەبوونی کارسازان، خاوەن کۆمپانیا، نوێنەرانی دامەزراوە جیاوازەکان و مامۆستایانی زانکۆ ئەنجام دا. لە ماوەی کۆبوونەوەکەدا دید و ئامانج و کارنامەی ئەنجوومەنەکە پێشکەش کرا و هەلی گفتوگۆ و ئاڵوگۆڕی بۆچوون لەنێوان زانکۆ و لایەنە پەیوەندیدارەکان ڕەخسا.
ئامانجی سەرەکی ئەنجوومەنی ڕاوێژکاری بواری کار، پێشکەشکردنی ڕاوێژ و ڕێنماییە سەبارەت بە پەرەپێدان و کردنەوەی ئەو پرۆگرامانەی خوێندن کە لەگەڵ پێداویستییەکانی ئێستا و داهاتووی بازاڕی کار لە هەرێمی کوردستان و عێراق هاوتەریب بن، لەهەمان کاتدا بەرزکردنەوەی ڕێژەی دامەزراندنی دەرچوان، چارەسەرکردنی کەموکوڕییەکانی بازاڕی کار، و پاڵپشتی قوتابییان بۆ دەستکەوتنی هەلی کار، هەروەها بەشداری کردن لە پێشخستنی ئابووری هەرێمی کوردستانی عێراق لە بوارە جیاوازەکانی کارسازی و پیشەسازی.

On behalf of the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr, we extend our deepest condolences to Rudaw Media Network on the passing of journalist Halkawt Aziz. This is an extremely sad day for the esteemed network, the journalists community in Kurdistan and the whole people of Kurdistan and Iraq. We express our sincere sympathy to his family, colleagues, and the wider journalists community. May he rest in peace.

The UKH Alumni Association organised “Bringing You Back Home”, a special reunion event for graduates from the classes of 2010–2018. The event brought together alumni and former academic staff for an evening of celebration and reconnection, featuring alumni photo displays, live music, personal stories from graduates, and a fireworks display.
The reunion aimed to renew and strengthen the bonds between alumni and the University, while providing an opportunity for graduates to reconnect with former classmates and lecturers. It also created a warm and welcoming atmosphere for alumni to return to the place where they built lasting friendships, developed their skills and knowledge, and began their professional journeys.

دەستەی دەرچووانی زانکۆی کوردستان هەولێر بۆنەی “ گەڕانەوە بۆ ماڵەوە” ی بۆ دەرچووانی ساڵانی 2010 تا 2018 ڕێكخست. بۆنەکە بە ئامادەبوونی مامۆستایان و دەرچووانی هەمان ساڵ و چەند چالاکییەکی جۆراوجۆر لەوانە وێنە و یادگاری دەرچووان، میوزیک و چیرۆکی ژیانی دەرچووان لە بەشە ناوخۆی و ژیانی ناو زانکۆ و یاری ئاگرین بەڕێوەچوو.
ئامانج لە ئەنجامدانی ئەم کۆبونەوەیە نوێکردنەوە و بەهێزکردنی پەیوەندی نێوان دەرچووانە لە نێوان خۆیان و زانکۆ لە هەمان کاتدا ڕەخساندنی کەشیکی هاوڕێیانە و گەڕانەوە بۆ ئەو ماڵەی کە کارامەیی و بڕوانامەکانیان تێدا بەدەست ‌هێناوە.

On World Environment Day, the Centre for Environmental Studies at UKH, together with volunteer students, organised an awareness campaign on recycling and reuse practices. The initiative also included a clean-up campaign in Hewlêr to raise environmental awareness and encourage the community to contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable environment.

لە ڕۆژی جیهانی ژینگە سەنتەری لێکۆڵینەوەی ژینگەیی لە زانکۆی کوردستان هەولێر بە هەماهەنگی لەگەڵ قوتابییانی خۆبەخش چالاکییەکیان سەبارەت بە چۆنییەتی دووبارە بەکارهێنانەوە ئەنجام دا. لە هەمان کاتدا هەڵمەتێکی پاککردنەوەی زبڵ و خاشاکییان لە ناو شاری هەولێر جێبەجێکرد بە مەبەستی هۆشیارکردنەوەی کۆمەڵگە و پاک ڕاگرتنی ژینگە.

As part of enhancing student engagement with the market, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering recently hosted a public cybersecurity session by a professional from IQ Group.
The session focused on practical cybersecurity concepts and included live demonstrations using real devices and tools. The presentation covered several common categories of cyberattacks at an intermediate undergraduate level, including Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) attacks, ARP and DNS poisoning, Wi-Fi attacks, malware, and phishing techniques.

وەک بەشێک لە پرۆسەی گەشەپێدانی قوتابییان و بەستنەوەیان بە بازاڕی کارەوە بەشی زانست و ئەندازیاری کۆمپیوتەر لە زانکۆی کوردستان هەولێر بە هەماهەنگی لەگەڵ ئای کیو گروپ گفتوگۆیەکی سەبارەت بە سایبەر سیکوریتی ئەنجامدا.
