Student Union had a meeting with each of Dr Honar Issa, American University of Kurdistan's Provost, Dr Ari Ibrahim, Head of Administration and Registration, Student Government, and Student Ambassadors . The aim of that meeting is to have a sustainable collaboration between each of the universities in terms of having a series of projects, campaigns, activities, and exchange knowledge competition for this year and years ahead.

UKH Cinema Project
Education Department of SU with the help of VC office hold the second film show "I am Sami" by the director Kae Bahar .The film had about 150 screenings in various International Film Festivals, and it has 48 awards, including 26 times for Best Film and Audience Choice Awards and twice as Best Director.
The film was about the frindship between Sami, a little boy that has an ill father and oscar who is American solder. The story conducted when the americans attacked Sami house and they brought his father as a prisoner.

On behalf of Marketing & Management Club team, we are announcing an event about "AK Party Government Foreign Policy" which will concentrate on the Turkish foreign relations in Middle East and Kurdistan Region in particular. The Turkish political issues between peace and war will be the main topic of this panel, and it will answer many questions about what has taken Turkey to that situation.

Kurdistan University’s Appointed Vice Chancellor

M. R. Mochtar, born in 1955 in Sulaimani-Kurdistan-Iraq, graduated from Sulaimni University in 1978, obtained his MSc with distinction in Bio-Chemistry from the same university in 1980. He was appointed as lecturer at the department of Bio-Chemistry and later awarded scholarship to Gothenburg University in Sweden when he carried out his postgraduate studies in Organic Chemistry leading him to obtain his PhD in 1987. Dr. Mochtar was lecturing till 1994 at the department of Biochemistry College of Medicine/Salahaddin University. In 1998 he did his Post Doctorate in Bio-Organic Chemistry at Essen University in Germany where he also worked from 2001 to 2002 as Assistant Professor.
Upon his return to Kurdistan in 2003, Dr. Mochtar was appointed as HOD of Bio-Chemistry at the College of Medicine, University of Salahaddin. In 2004, he was appointed as the Vice President of university and retained his teaching and supervision of postgraduate students at the same college to date. Dr. Mochtar is a member of several distinguished academic institutes, has active scientific engagement, producing research work and participating in conferences within the region and abroad. His active academic life was inter-twined with his role as the Vice President in charge of administrative and logistics at the Salahaddin University. Dr. Mochtar was instrumental in establishing collaboration programs with local and European universities which included staff exchange and joined supervision for junior and senior staff in the university. Over the las two decades, his evolved multi—tasking skills and communication experience has enabled him to conclude difficult missions successfully; believing that any new task is a new challenge which needs to be addressed, in teamwork spirit, and within the framework of “doability”.
