القسم السماعي في الايلتس
• ان تصميم امتحان (القسم الخاص بالسماعي IELTS Listening Section ) الايلتس يهدف الى "تقييم قدرة الطالب الممتحن لفهم اللغة الانكليزية الشفهية"
• تفاصيل السماعي في امتحان الايلتس هي :
- يحتوي هذا القسم على 40 سؤال مقسمة على 4 اجزاء ويجب الاجابة على الاسئلة خلال 30 دقيقة. الجزء الاول من هذا القسم هو سهل ولكن الصعوب تزداد عند الانتقال الى الجزء الثاني الثالث واخيرا الرابع.
- يتم سماع جميع الاسئلة 40 مرة واحدة وخلال جلسة واحدة ولذلك من الضروري الانتباه وقراءة " منطوق كل سؤال بعناية", على سبيل المثال, اذا كان منطوق السؤال يؤكد على ان لايكون الجواب اكثر من 3 كلمات , فيجب الانتباه الى هذه المعلومة( اذا ما كتب الطالب 4 او 5 كلمات فيكون جوابه خطأ)
- عند انتهاء وقت " تشغيل الحوار من خلال جهاز التسجيل", يعطى الطالب 10 دقائق لنقل اجوبته من "كتاب الامتحان" الى "ورقة او استمارة الاجوبة". يجب الانتباه عند نقل الاجوبة الى (1) الاملاء مهم جدا ولكن كتابة الكلمات بحرف كبير ليست كذلك, (2) سوف لن يتم خصم اي درجة من درجات السماعي بسبب " الاجوبة الخطأ" لذلك لاضير من الاجابة على جميع الاسئلة (بضمنها الاسئلة التي لاتستطيع الاجابة عليها).
• بعض النصائح للاستعداد لامتحان السماعي في الايلتس:
- من الضروري قراءة كل سؤال وجميع الاجوبة لذالك السؤال قبل سماع الحوار المتعلق بهذا السؤال( هنالك وقت قصير ولكنه مفيد يعطى للطالب قبل قراءة الحوار لكل سؤال)
- تحليل الاسئلة والاجوبة
- تحديد " الكلمات الرئيسية" في كل سؤال( على الاغلب تكون هذه الكلمات هي "اسماء او افعال" لذلك من الضروري وضع خط او دائرة حول هذه الكلمات)
- التاكد من معرفة " ما هو المطلوب الاجابة عليه في كل سؤال" , على سبيل المثال, هو الجواب المطلوب هو " اسم شخص , اسم مكان, رقم هاتف, صفة؟
- القيام بعملية تخمين" نوع الحوار, سياق الكلام, عدد الاشخاص, اي تفاصيل اخرى" لتساعدك في تحديد الاجابات الصحيحة
- المترادفات مهمة( قد تحتوي احدى فقرات الجواب على كلمة تحمل نفس معنى كلمة يتم ذكرها في الحوار)
- على الطالب ان يتوقع ان تكون هنالك " حيل" لخداع الطالب عند الاجابة.
- الانتباه الى الكلمات النافية
- التركيز على "نبرة الكلام" ( احيانا عندما نبرة الحوار " مثيرة(ان يكون المتحدث سعيد جدا) فهذا يدل على اجابة معية, وكذلك عندما تكون نبرة الحوار " مكتئبة" فانها تعطي معنى مختلف)
- التفكير بالاسئلة اللاحقة
• التمرين للاستعداد لامتحان السماعي من الايلتس
- من الضروري ان يتمرن الطالب على سماع " لكنات ولهجات مختلفة" من خلال التلفاز, الافلام, الراديو, المحاضرات, ومشاهدة الفديوات على الانترنت.

IELTS Reading (Keyword Technique)
1. In each question and before your answer the question you need to look for "key words"
2. These words are " important words", for example, nouns
3. After deciding these words , we go to the passage and scan the paragraphs quickly to find the ' the right part that contain the key words"
4. After locating "key words" , we should read that part of the passage that contains the key word and look for more key words, and finally decide what the answer is
5. Tip for " using and improving key words technique", when you practice for the test at home ( NOT in the exam), make 'key word table'

IELTS Speaking Part 1: Common questions
Details:
You need prepare lots of different topics, for example, family, hobbies, going out, birthdays but you also need to prepare the different types of questions. So even though the examiner will ask you about different topics the questions are often the same
The topic of Cooking
This is a very common topic in IELTS Speaking Part1. And Common questions begin with "Questions-words" and/or "Do/Can" auxiliary verbs.
1. Common questions_ group 1: Questions that start with " Questions words"
• How often do you cook? (This is looking at frequency – the number of times you cook in a week or in a month).
• Who usually does the cooking? (This is a person so either you or someone else in your family).
• Where did you learn to cook? (This is the place. Did you learn to cook in your own home or was it in a school or on a course).
• When did you learn to cook? (This is for a time so for this you’ll need to give a date , for example, ten years ago or when I was a child).
• How long have you been cooking? (This is about the length of time, for example, you could say "I’ve been cooking for about six years" and that means I started cooking six years ago).
• And of course what kind of dishes do you like? (This is also a common question so, for example, do you like spicy dishes or chicken dishes – what kind?)
So these question words are very important and you need to listen for them in the speaking part 1 test so that you can give the right information in you answer.
2. Common questions_ group 2: Questions that start with "Can you…?"
• Can you swim? Can you dance? Can you cook? (You need to answer yes I can or no I can’t and add some more information).
• Do you like…? (So this is "what you enjoy". It could also be "do you dislike" so listen out for that).
• What’s your favorite…? (This is a very common question "what’s your favorite book? What’s your favorite dish? What’s your favorite newspaper?" It could be any question like this and again you need to express "the dish that you like most".
• Preference: "Do you prefer eating at home or do you prefer eating out? (This means "Do you prefer this or do you prefer this". You need to choose one and explain your preference.
• Do you usually….? (So this is about your common habit what do you do frequently. So do you usually cook for yourself? And you need to answer yes or no and again add more information).
• What do you usually cook? (This is about what dish, so for example, I often cook Chinese food or I often cooked vegetarian dishes.
• Do you ever…? (This is in the present tense so this is now. Do you ever order food delivery? You need to say yes or no and then explain why or give from more examples.
• Have you ever…? (This is actually a past tense question so that means we’re looking at what you’ve done in the past. So have you ever eaten any food from a foreign country? You can say yes and you can explain when or what kind of food it was. So again a very common question you can get in almost any topic.
3. Common questions _ Group 3
• Did you ever cook when you were a child? (Now it’s very important that you pay attention to this question because it’s a clear past tense question about your childhood and of course this is testing your past tense your grammar. So it’s very important that you listen for the tense in the question because this is a language test so if you don’t give a past tense answer that might be a problem.
• And the next question. Of course speaking part 1 is mostly about yourself "what do you like what do you prefer…? Can you…? when do you…? what do you…? (It’s mostly about yourself but you can also get questions about people in your country or about people in general.
• So here we’ve got a question "why do some people dislike cooking?" (Now please if you get a question like this don’t talk about yourself. This is about other people so with this question you’ll need to explain why there are people who don’t enjoy cooking.

IELTS Speaking Part 1: Topics
1. There will approximately 12 questions in this part.
2. The 12 questions come from 3 familiar topics.
3. Usually the first question comes from one of these topics: work/study/home/hometown.
4. If the examiner decides to ask you about "work/study", the first question will be "Do you work or do you study?" The examiner is asking "do you work OR do you study?" because he/she wants to know which topic (work or study) to choose and the next questions.
5. For "Do you work or do you study", you do not need to expand your answer. You can say very clearly: I work OR I study.
6. If you have just finished university and has not yet started any work, you can say "I have just finished university, but I don’t have a job yet."
7. Next the examiner will continue asking you questions about your study because " you said I study"
8. The common questions for "work/study" are
• Where do you study or work?
• Why did you choose that subject or that job?
• The examiner might ask you about your first day, about the people you work with or study, and other things about your work or studies.
9. For the topic of "home", it is all about where you live (question about your house or apartment). The examiner can ask about:
• The rooms in the house
• How they are decorated(what you can see on the walls)
• What kind of views you will have from the windows
• The people you live with
• The area or street where you live in
10. For the topic "hometown", if you get the questions about this topic, you will be asked about:
• Where you were born , OR, where you spent most of childhood
• Places in your hometown( for example, buildings or old buildings)
• Weather
• Transportation
• If you still plan to live there (hometown) in the future.
11. Next you will have one of these 18 different topics:
Family Food Going out
Friends Clothes Newspapers
Hobbies School Childhood
Weather Flowers Holidays
Happiness Shopping Dictionaries
Sport Computers Transport
