A few days ago, the NiLTAP team together with Mr Ali Karim, director of the archaeological site of Nimrud, had the honor of welcoming the Italian Ambassador in Baghdad, His Excellency Mr. Niccolò Fontana, and the Italian Consul in Erbil, Mr. Tommaso Sansone, on the occasion of their first visit at the site. It was a wonderful opportunity to show the invaluable cultural heritage preserved at the Assyrian city of Nimrud and to share the initial results of the first season of NiLTAP, in collaboration with our Iraqi colleagues, to whom we are very grateful for their constant cooperation.
Our sincere and heartfelt thanks go to the Ambassador, the Consul, and their staff for their interest in our work and for the ongoing support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. We look forward to welcoming them back in a near future to share more news on our work in the Lower Town of Nimrud!
قبل أيام قليلة، كان لفريق مشروع نمرود للمدينة السفلى (NiLTAP)، برفقة السيد علي كريم، مدير موقع نمرود الأثري، شرفُ استقبال سعادة السفير الإيطالي في بغداد، السيد نيكولو فونتانا، والقنصل الإيطالي في أربيل، السيد توماسو سونسوني، وذلك في أول زيارة لهما إلى الموقع.
كانت مناسبة رائعة لعرض الإرث الثقافي الثمين المحفوظ في المدينة الآشورية نمرود، ولتقاسم النتائج الأولية للموسم الأول من أعمال المشروع، بالتعاون مع زملائنا العراقيين الذين نعرب لهم عن خالص امتناننا لتعاونهم المستمر.
نتوجّه بجزيل الشكر والعرفان إلى السفير والقنصل وفريق عملهما على اهتمامهم الكبير بعملنا، وعلى الدعم المتواصل من وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي الإيطالية.
ونتطلّع إلى استقبالهم مرة أخرى في المستقبل القريب، لمشاركتهم المزيد من أخبار عملنا في المدينة السفلى من نمرود
