Doon International School, Kurali, successfully conducted a Capacity Building Programme (CBP) on **"Gender Equality"** on 30th May 2026. The programme aimed to create awareness among educators about fostering an inclusive, equitable, and empathetic learning environment for all students.
The training was conducted by two eminent resource persons, **Dr. Ritu Bansal** and **Mr. Vishal Dhamija**. Dr. Ritu Bansal, an experienced educationist and academic leader with 18 years of rich academic and administrative experience, shared valuable insights on gender sensitivity, inclusiveness, and the role of educators in shaping a progressive society. Mr. Vishal Dhamija, a renowned CBSE Master Trainer, award-winning educator, and author, enriched the session with practical strategies and interactive discussions on promoting equality in educational institutions.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from the teachers. Various engaging activities, group discussions, case studies, and collaborative exercises were conducted to help participants understand the importance of gender equality in classrooms and society. Special emphasis was laid on **transgender equality**, respecting individual identities, and creating safe and supportive spaces for every learner.
Another significant aspect of the training was **parent counselling**, highlighting the crucial role parents play in nurturing values of equality, acceptance, and empathy among children from an early age. The resource persons stressed the need for schools and families to work together in building a more inclusive society.
The programme was graced by the presence of the respected Principal, **Mr. H. R. Chauhan**, and esteemed members of the school management. In their insightful address, they emphasized the importance of gender-sensitive education and encouraged educators to cultivate empathy, respect, and equal opportunities for all students. They reiterated that education serves as a powerful tool in eliminating discrimination and fostering a culture of understanding and acceptance.
The training concluded on a highly positive note, leaving participants inspired and empowered to implement the principles of gender equality in their professional and personal lives. The programme was a meaningful step towards building a more inclusive and compassionate educational environment.
