🎉 **A Proud Moment for GEC Wayanad!** 🎉

Government Engineering College Wayanad witnessed a landmark occasion on **26th February 2026 (Thursday)** as the Hon’ble Minister for Higher Education, **Smt. Dr. R. Bindu**, inaugurated the **Online Exam Centre** and the **Centre for Construction Technology Development & Training**, established under the Wayanad Package.

The function was presided over by the Hon’ble Minister for Welfare of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes, **Sri O. R. Kelu**.

✨ The ceremony also marked the unveiling of the **Souvenir**, signifying the grand culmination of the year-long **Silver Jubilee Celebrations** of the institution.

The event was graced by Dr. Pradeep V (Principal), Prof. Winsor Raj (Wayanad Development Project Coordinator), Prof. C. Pavan Kumar, Sri C. A. Raveendran (Staff Representative), Grama Panchayat Members Smt. Lisy Jose & Smt. Shahira Hussain, Sri V. R. Vinod (PTA President), Sri U. Abinand (College Union Chairman),
along with elected representatives, faculty members, staff, and students.

These new facilities mark a significant step forward in strengthening academic excellence and technical training at GEC Wayanad.

Director of Technical Education Dr. Jayaprakash P addressed the participants on the valedictory function of the Professional Development Programme on ‘Outcome Based Education and GAPC 4.0’ by NITTTR Chennai hosted by Govt. Engineering College Wayanad on 09/01/2026. Dr. E S M Suresh, the NITTTR coordinator appreciated the efforts of the college for being current with the new accreditation format. The internal and external participants shared their learning experiences during the course.

The Professional Development Programme on ‘Outcome Based Education and GAPC 4.0’ by NITTTR Chennai hosted by Govt. Engineering College Wayanad witnessed 50 Engineering and Polytechnic faculties from the States of Karnataka and Kerala. Principal Dr. Pradeep V has inaugurated the programme on 05/01/206.
The local coordinator Dr. Sindhu P welcomed the chief guest Dr. E S M Suresh and the expert Dr. V S Shanmughaneethi of NITTTR Chennai. Dr. Sinith S, HOD, ECE has felicitated the function. The PDP concludes on 09/01/2026.
