โค๏ธ HIV/AIDS Awareness Rally | SMCON

On 13 August 2026, students of Shalinitai Meghe College of Nursing (SMCON) participated in an HIV/AIDS Awareness Rally at District Civil Hospital, Wardha.

The rally was conducted at 9:00 AM under the guidance of faculty members Mr. Saagar Bhovare, Ms. Koyal Petkar, and Ms. Mohini Kamble. The programme was graced by the presence of Chief Guest Honโ€™ble Abhyuday Meghe Sir, along with his team and social-awareness volunteers.

๐Ÿ“ข The rally proceeded through Wardha city, where students actively raised awareness about HIV/AIDS, its transmission and prevention, while promoting the importance of a stigma-free and informed society.

The initiative provided students with an opportunity to contribute to community health awareness, social responsibility, and public health education.

World Breastfeeding Week 2026 was celebrated at AVBRH, Sawangi (Meghe), Wardha from 1stโ€“7th August, under the theme "Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works." Jointly organised by SRMMCON, FNTCN, SMCON and AVBRH, reaffirming breastfeeding as the foundation of a healthy start to life.

The inaugural session was graced by Dr. Chandrashekhar Mahakalkar (Director, DMIHER Hospital) as Chief Guest, along with senior faculty from the Departments of Pediatrics and Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and nursing leadership. The program opened with lamp lighting and welcome of dignitaries with saplings, followed by inspiring addresses and a student talk on the importance of breastfeeding.

CPD Programme Successfully Conducted

On 25 July 2026, Shalinitai Meghe College of Nursing, Salod (H), Wardha, in collaboration with Smt. Radhikabai Meghe Memorial College of Nursing, Sawangi (M), Wardha, successfully organized a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Programme on the theme:

"Innovative Strategies for Infection Prevention in High-Risk Areas: Leveraging Communication to Safeguard Patients."

The programme began with a ceremonial lamp-lighting in the presence of distinguished dignitaries and was followed by six enriching scientific sessions on infection prevention, effective communication in infection control, advanced disinfection and sterilization technologies, healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), patient safety, and technology-driven communication systems.

The event concluded with a post-test, participant feedback, an interactive discussion, and a vote of thanks. The programme provided an excellent platform for nursing professionals to strengthen their knowledge, enhance evidence-based practices, and reinforce a culture of patient safety and quality healthcare.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all dignitaries, resource persons, participants, and organizers for making this programme a grand success.

The students of Shalinitai Meghe College of Nursing, Wardha enthusiastically participated in a Rangoli Competition based on the theme "Save Girl Child" on 25th July 2026.

Through their vibrant and creative rangoli designs, the students conveyed powerful messages promoting the value, dignity, and rights of every girl child. The event encouraged awareness about gender equality and inspired everyone to contribute towards building a society where every girl is respected, educated, and empowered.

ORS Day Celebration | SMCON B.Sc. Nursing, Wardha

On the occasion of ORS Day, the students and faculty of SMCON B.Sc. Nursing, Wardha organized an awareness activity to highlight the importance of Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) in preventing and treating dehydration caused by diarrhoea.
