Success! Our Note-Taking Skills Workshop Was a Huge Hit! ✍️📖

Today, middle school students took their note-taking skills to the next level at our interactive workshop, led by Ishanvi Renubabu (9th grade) and organized by Professor Vinay Kodipelly & Sharanya Narra.

Students explored why note-taking matters, practiced Cornell Method & Mind-Mapping, and applied their skills to solving real math problems. Their dedication and engagement were incredible to see!

🏆 A special congratulations to Samanvi Ramphe, who received the Best Note-Taker Award for her clear, structured, and well-organized notes! She walked away with a $20 Barnes & Noble gift card as a well-earned reward! 📚✨

Robotics Fun for K-5: A Huge Success! 🎉🤖

On February 1st, 2025, the Active Learning Institute made an exciting comeback with a Robotics Fun for K-5 Kids event at the St. Louis County Library, Daniel Boone Branch in Saint Louis, USA. The session, led by Sharanya Narra, was an incredible success, igniting curiosity and enthusiasm among young learners!

Sharanya, who volunteered for this community service initiative, introduced students to robotics using Edison Robots and Sphero Mini, engaging them in hands-on activities that blended fun and learning. The kids had such a fantastic time that they asked for an additional three hours to continue playing with the robots! 🤩

This event marks a new beginning for the Active Learning Institute, originally established in India and now continuing its mission in Saint Louis, MO, as a US chapter. We are thrilled to bring back our commitment to STEM education, inspiring young minds through interactive learning experiences.

Research has shown that when students understand how mathematics

What we are looking for?

We are looking for passionate mathematics educators with excellent teaching, writing and speaking skills. Your primary work in this position is to coin creative and innovative instructional materials to the 7th to 10th grade mathematics using Active Learning techniques or Inquiry-based strategies. Craft lessons that include following: rationale, teacher notes, guiding questions, concept instruction, exploration activities, and performance assessments. We are willing to train you if you have the required qualification, passion for teaching effectively and excellent communication skills. Apart from the primary duties, you will be asked(sometimes) to participate in promoting our institution and its mission. Rarely, you will be asked to tutor a student or two depending on the availability. Complete tasks in a timely manner to meet an agreed upon deadline

This is a challenging position which requires expertise in mathematics, teaching experience and fluent writing skills. While this is a contractual position, we are willing to renew your contract with an increased salary depending on your rapport with us and our requirements.

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications

Any Masters student in a relevant discipline(Mathematics), preferably from NIT or IIT like institutions. But we will consider degrees from other colleges if the candidate prove to be competent in teaching and writing .
Deep content knowledge in mathematics and pedagogy
Superior writing skills with demonstrated writing ability (writing sample required). Must exhibit a strong command of English grammar, syntax, reading, writing, sentence structure, as well as mathematics pedagogy.
Comfortable with technology and able to learn new applications, MS office and Latex
Enthusiasm, Imagination, Communication skills, Adaptability, Patience, Responsibility, Leadership
Most importantly, a passion to teach
Having an education degree will be an asset to this position(B.Ed)
