Mud Day – A Journey from Soil to Sustainability

Our little learners along with their parents at Platinum Jubilee High School enjoyed a joyful and meaningful Mud Day, where learning came alive through nature, creativity, and hands-on experiences. The campus transformed into a vibrant village-themed learning space, helping children connect with soil, farming, and sustainability.

One Day Farming Experience – “Ek Din Kisaan”
Children experienced the life of a farmer through activities such as soil preservation, sowing seeds, growing crops, and harvesting. A village setup with a hut, well, haystacks, cow shed, farming tools, and farmer displays created a realistic rural atmosphere. Students also placed their mud thumbprints on the “Ek Din Kisaan Promise Chart”, promising to respect soil, farmers, and food.

Children explored traditional practices by making mud bricks using moulds and observing a potter shaping clay on the wheel, learning how pots are created from clay.
Creativity blossomed through Warli Art, Mandala Art, Pot Painting, and Leaf Impression Art, beautifully displayed in a mud hut setup with a traditional clay stove.

Through mud writing trays, matching games, sequencing activities, counting stones, leaf patterns, and nature-themed storytelling, children strengthened their early literacy and numeracy skills.
A delightful nature-themed puppet show engaged children with stories about nature, animals, and farming.

Children explored soil layers, sorting activities on soil care, and the Save Soil Promise Board, building awareness about protecting our earth.
Children created animals, vehicles, and everyday objects using mud, encouraging creativity and imagination.

Adding to the village experience, children also enjoyed bullock cart and camel rides, giving them a glimpse of traditional modes of transport used in rural life.

A beautifully designed selfie zone with mud huts, clay pots, and nature décor allowed children and parents to capture memorable moments.

The celebration concluded with a joyful Water Splash Activity, where children explored water play while developing sensory and coordination skills.

A day filled with mud, smiles, creativity, and meaningful learning, reminding us that the best lessons often come from nature itself.
