Unique Children School and Shinleima Vocational Institute Celebrate Successful Teacher Trainee Fieldwork

Unique Children School, Wangjing is proud to announce the successful conclusion of a 30-day fieldwork program in collaboration with Shinleima Vocational Education & Training Institute. The program provided invaluable hands-on teaching experience for aspiring educators, enriching both the trainees and the school's pre-primary and playgroup students.
​During their month-long placement, the trainees actively participated in daily classroom activities, working closely with Unique Children School's faculty to create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment. Their dedication and fresh perspectives were a welcome addition to the school community, fostering a dynamic and engaging atmosphere for the youngest learners.
​"It was an absolute pleasure to host the trainees from Shinleima Vocational Education & Training Institute," said Ngangbam Ajoykumar Singh, Principal Unique Children School. "Their hard work and genuine care for the children were evident every day. Unique Children School, Wangjing, Celebrates National Sports Day with Enthusiastic Participation

Unique Children School, Wangjing marked National Sports Day on August 29 with a vibrant celebration dedicated to promoting health and fitness among its students. The event, held in honor of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, featured a variety of activities aimed at encouraging physical activity and sportsmanship.

​The day’s program kicked off with the Fit India Pledge, where students and staff committed to incorporating fitness into their daily lives. The pledge was followed by a series of indoor and traditional games. Students showcased their strategic skills in aTable Tennis, Carrom board play and a highly competitive Chess tournament.

​A key highlight of the celebration was the revival of traditional Manipuri games, including Khulokpi, Marum Konbi, and Khongchongbi. These games not only provided an opportunity for fun and physical exercise but also helped connect students with their cultural heritage.

​The event concluded with a presidential speech by the school's principal, Shri N.G. Ajoykumar Singh. In his address, he emphasized the importance of sports in a child’s holistic development, highlighting how physical activity fosters discipline, teamwork, and resilience.

​"National Sports Day is more than just a date; it's a reminder of the vital role sports play in shaping character," said Shri N.G. Ajoykumar Singh. "Our goal is to instill a love for physical activity in our students, ensuring they grow up to be healthy, disciplined, and well-rounded individuals."

Unique Children School, Wangjing Honors Freedom Fighters on Patriots’ Day
In a heartfelt ceremony, Unique Children School, Wangjing observed Patriots’ Day on Tuesday to pay tribute to the brave heroes who laid down their lives lives in the Anglo-Manipur War of 1891. The solemn event, held on the school campus, aimed to instill a sense of patriotism and historical consciousness in the younger generation.
The observance began with a floral tribute at a portrait of Yuvraj Bir Tikendrajit Singh and Thangal General, the iconic martyrs who were publicly executed on this day in 1891. Students from various grades participated in a series of programs, including patriotic songs and a powerful recitation of a poem dedicated to the fallen heroes.
Speaking on the occasion, Ng. Ajoykumar Singh, the school’s principal, highlighted the significance of the day. “Patriots’ Day is not just a holiday; it is a sacred day to remember the immense sacrifices made by our forefathers for the sovereignty of our land,” he said. “It is our duty to ensure that the courage and love for the motherland demonstrated by figures like Bir Tikendrajit and Thangal General are passed on to every child. Their stories are a testament to the fact that true patriotism lies in selfless service and resilience.”
A short historical overview of the Anglo-Manipur War was presented by Thokchom Amuba Singh Mathematics Teacher, explaining the circumstances that led to the heroic resistance against the British Empire. This educational segment was designed to help students grasp the historical importance of the event beyond the ceremonial aspects. The program concluded with a pledge by all students and staff to uphold the values of unity, integrity, and honor in their lives.
