program - Scenes from the Ashram Schools in Nandurbar
Our coordinators report,
“These children’s home language is Bhili. It was a challenge to initiate a dialogue with the first graders – they didn’t understand our Marathi and we didn’t understand their Bhili. We took help from older children from grade 6-7 as translators. Our daily activities continued in Marathi – songs, picture talk, object talk etc.
Within a month, the younger children have slowly started picking up Marathi. We have also picked up a few words and sentences from them in Bhili. Our dialogue is much better now.”
प्राज फाउंडेशनच्या आर्थिक सहकार्याने पश्चिम खान्देश भिल्ल सेवा मंडळ नंदुरबार मधील मोलगी, तलावडी आणि सुरवाणी आश्रमशाळांमध्ये FLN व अनुपदचे काम सुरू होऊन एक महिना पूर्ण झाला आहे.
तिन्ही आश्रमशाळांमधील मुलांची घरची भाषा भील आहे. विशेषतः पहिलीच्या मुलांसोबत सुरुवातीला संवाद साधणे हे आमच्यासाठी एक आव्हान होते. आमचे मराठी त्यांना समजत नव्हते आणि त्यांचे भील भाषेतील बोलणे आम्हाला समजत नव्हते.
त्यांच्याशी संवाद व्हावा म्हणून सहावी-सातवीच्या विद्यार्थ्यांची अनुवादक म्हणून मदत घेतली.तसेच त्यांना रोज गाणी,गोष्टी ऐकवत राहिलो.यासोबतच दिनदर्शिका सांगणे,वस्तुगप्पा, नैमित्तिक गप्पा, चित्रगप्पा अशा विविध अँक्टिव्हिटीच्या माध्यमातून मुलांशी मराठीत संवाद साधत राहिलो.
मुले आता मराठीत बोलायला सुरुवात करू लागली आहेत. त्यांना मराठी शिकवताना आम्हीही त्यांच्याकडून भील भाषेतील काही शब्द आणि वाक्ये शिकलो.
