An envious ego feels happy by pulling down the object of its envy. This is a very cheap form of happiness that ultimately turns into misery.

महाभारत युद्ध हमारे मन में

In reality, the battle is with our own attachment and aversion. This body itself is Kurukṣetra; it is also Dharmakṣetra. Both the Pāṇḍavas and the Kauravas are within us; they are not somewhere outside.
The Gītā is being lived within us even now. This very body is Dharmakṣetra and Kurukṣetra. It is here that the Pāṇḍavas and Kauravas are seated. They are present within our own mind.

Just as the Pāṇḍavas and Kauravas came from the same family and gathered in one place, similarly, both righteous and unrighteous thoughts arise within our mind. A conflict takes place between them.
We must observe this conflict with impartiality, like Sañjaya. Just as Sañjaya watched the battle from a higher perspective, we too should rise above our thoughts and observe them objectively. This is how we should see the inner battle taking place within us.
