In Loving Memory ....

Today we remember our Founder and Master Trainer, Sangitaa Sehgall, on the occasion of her birthday.

A Visionary and a Pioneer in everything that she did, Sangitaa was not only a teacher, she was a source of Inspiration, Motivation and Positivity to everyone around her. A Woman of many talents - with a passion for extending a helping hand to anyone in need, an infinite love for animals and an unquenchable thirst for both gaining and imparting knowledge - she was a Mentor and a Mother Figure to not only her students, but also to us - her fellow trainers.

We can not encompass all that she was, neither will we attempt to. We just want to remember her today and mourn the loss of someone who brought light to all those around her, and who we know, continues to shine bright on us from above.

Telling a story written by myself at the Kind Stories in Concert- organised by the Healing Story Alliance, USA. A story about my heart at an event that was All Heart!!❤️

What a blessing it was to listen to all the stories of Loving Kindness by the featured and community storytellers and be reminded of the many faces of Kindness!! My story was not about Kindness that gives freely, but Kindness that withholds....!

So grateful to the universe for the healing I experienced!

Join the Healing Story Alliance for a monthly gathering to share and explore stories of kindness in its many faces and forms. Through folk tales and personal stories, we'll dive deeply into multiple experiences of kindness.

The story session opens with a concert of seasoned tellers sharing stories with themes of kindness. During the second half of the gathering, audience members are invited to share a story, moment or reflection about kindness that emerged for them as listeners.

After all, we all need a little more kindness in our lives! Perhaps a story can take us there.

HSA members attend for free. Donations of any amount are welcome from non-members.

Reminiscing the final day of Our Three day Workshop: Durga - The Warrior Goddess

Shakti and Durga are two words that can be used interchangeably for Adi Shakti-the Mother Goddess who takes on different forms according to who she needs to be to restore peace and balance.
The two forms, Shakti and Durga represent two different aspects of Energy. Shakti refers to the innate power within, while the word Durga is rooted in the word ‘durg’ which means a ‘fortress’ – which we human beings build around us, to both protect ourselves and to be able to thrive in the world.

"DURGA - THE WARRIOR GODDESS" -
DAY 2

Many valuable lessons are hidden in mythological stories. Durga's taking on a powerful demon and killing him every time he raised it head until he could raise his head no more is a very valuable lesson!
Pondering upon what her ten weapons could symbolise in the modern context raised our collective 'Shakti' and bonded all of us at the session so much that when Durga slayed the remaining demons we felt we have liked them collectively to restore harmony and peace ....!!

Fond memories of Day one of our "Durga -The Warrior Goddess" workshop.

THE BATTLE TO GAIN VICTORY OVER EVIL HAS BEEN GOING ON FROM TIME IMMEMORIAL. WHEREVER THERE IS STRENGTH, THERE ARE THOSE WHO USE IT FOR THEIR SELFISH ENDS.

The image of the buffalo-slaying, lion-riding Durga is entrenched in the collective psyche of the Hindus. She is the symbol of ultimate power, one who we turn to whenever we are helpless in the face of oppression. The story of her birth from the union of the individual strengths of various gods is being told continuously by many people down the ages to assure us that Good always wins over Evil .

Imagine

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too
Imagine all the people AND ANIMALS
Living life in peace

You, you may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you will join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man AND ANIMALS
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You, you may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you will join us
And the world will live as one

I just found out that I have almost 875 facebook friends!

Imagine what we could do for the hapless victims of the Covid disaster- the stray animals - if each of you, my facebook friends, contributed Rs. 1000/- towards their welfare! I could have collected Rs. 8,75000/- !!!!

Okay, Rs. 100/- each? That would mean 87,500!
100 rupees each-do-able, right? Right?? So here is the poster with the details and here is the link. Just do it! Won't you? Please?! All proceeds to go to CARE, Bangalore! This Dussehra, let's help Durga dispel the darkness !
