Our friend (he prefers to stay anonymous) is an MBA from London Business School and CFA, currently a finance professional soaring high in his career. Giving back to the society, is what he didn't forget. He supports several social causes by allocating almost 10% of his annual income. He's been with vidyarthi right from its inception. Vidyarthi being a small and no-frills NGO, the contribution reaches the needy easily and efficiently. His endorsement of this thought kept him close to the heart of vidyarthi thereby opening doors of possibilities for many more to learn and grow.

Meet one more gem of our vidyarthis, Divya. Her father is unable to work due to serious health issues. Mother earns about 4-5 k per month. Divya was not only committed to continue her education undeterred, but also received 'Student of the year' award from LIC. Kudos to her!

With Grand Parents as guardians, these two sisters live in the last mile of their village, Idupulapadu of Prakasam district. The grandparents have shown exemplary courage in overcoming loss of their son and earning livelihood as daily laborers to groom their grandchildren. Their vision is to educate them well.
The sisters wish to take up teaching and banking professions respectively and we are with them. We have also provided them with competitive examination books.

As an NGO that supports the education of many deserving students, we ensure that the operational costs are kept to minimum. We only function virtually and our volunteers work for the cause and out of passion. Not to mention the generosity we receive at every step. We owe special thanks to Dr. Durga Prasad who runs a multi-speciality hospital in Ongole and his brother Mr. S***a rao who have helped us with local travel, accommodation and sponsored notebooks for our students. Saving lives in many ways!

Bharadwaj from Guntur lost his father. Mother works in a private school to get the family going. He was ready to give his SSC exams when we identified him. Like a twist in the tale, he suffered severe Chicken pox during the board exams, so much that he could not hold a pen and write. He was carried to the examination hall as he was unable to walk. The examiner made him sit in a separate room. Despite going through such tough physical condition, this boy scored 87% in SSC. His school teachers were very happy that he made it to the exams and said that he could have scored much better in normal condition. Moved by his perseverance and talent, he’s being recommended for a fee rebate in the intermediate college. Our brilliant Bharadwaj!!

Friends, we met more than 40 students and each one’s life was a story that made us to sit and ponder over. . In many cases, the entire family works hard to earn just 5000, a month. With the rocketing prices not being an exception to them, can they even afford food and shelter? Isn’t education a distant dream to them? Luckily not. At least we reached few of them. The most deserving ones with will of iron, who are arrows that will go into future and not willing to stay where they are.

Muralidhar, the co-founder of Vidyarthi is a corporate employee in Mumbai. He’s mostly occupied with work, family and Mumbai’s traffic!! But he still squeezes good amount of time for vidyarthi’s activities. This year, he took a week off to meet the vidyarthis in Andhra Pradesh, and ensure them of support and guidance. He set off on 24th June and travelled around Vijayawada, Guntur, Chirala (adjoining 4 villages), Ongole, Kavali, Nellore and finally Hyderabad. In the picture is also Murali’s dad, extremely agile and young at heart. He spends 2-3 months of time every year in these villages monitoring vidyarthi’s ground level activities, our strong support.
