Andhra University Vice-Chancellor Prof. G.P. Raja Sekhar today officially released the poster for a 6-day online short-term training course on 'Yoga and Consciousness,' organized by the UGC – Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (UGC-MMTTC) at Andhra University.

The training sessions will be held online from September 21 to 26, daily between 9:30 AM and 5:15 PM.

Director Prof. K. Eswar Kumar announced that there is no registration fee for this training course. Interested faculty members can apply through the official Malaviya Mission portal ([https://lnkd.in/dVctfQjX)). Applicants are required to upload a mandatory No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their respective working institutions along with their application.

Andhra University has officially launched a five-day national Faculty Development Program (FDP) focused on 'Generative AI in Education and Training – Integrating Moral Values, Ethics, and NEP 2020 for Transforming Teaching-Learning.'

Speaking at the inauguration, Prof. K. Pushpanadham (NCTE Member & MSU Baroda) emphasized that the future of a nation is built in its classrooms. He noted that true progress relies heavily on implementing NEP 2020 effectively and recognizing that no country can rise above the standard of its teachers.

AU Vice-Chancellor Prof. G.P. Rajasekhar highlighted that AI is highly effective in solving complex problems and urged educators to integrate modern technologies into the curriculum while making the best use of hands-on technical sessions.

Prof. M.T.V. Nagaraju (Central University of Jharkhand) commended AU for pioneering this specialized training on Generative AI, noting that curricula must evolve alongside rapid technological shifts. FDP Convener Prof. T. Sharon Raju added that guiding educators to use AI responsibly supports the vision of 'Viksit Bharat 2047.' Additionally, Prof. P.S. Avadhani (Former Director, IIIT Agartala) encouraged faculty to embrace technology as a collaborative journey to empower future generations.

The Centre for Study of Social Inclusion (CSSI) at Andhra University is organizing a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Social Inclusion: Policy, Practice and Community Engagement” from September 21 to 25.

AU Vice-Chancellor Prof. G.P. Raja Sekhar officially released the program poster today at the Senate Hall. He noted that the initiative aims to enhance the capacities of faculty members and researchers in fostering social equity and holistic development.

The program will feature expert lectures, panel discussions, and practical sessions on critical topics, including research methodologies, community engagement, digital technology, academic writing, and policy advocacy.

Andhra University grandly celebrated National Sports Day on Saturday, marking the birth anniversary of legendary hockey wizard Major Dhyan Chand.

AU Vice-Chancellor Prof. G.P. Raja Sekhar and MLA & Government Chief Whip P.G.V.R. Naidu (Ganababu) attended as chief guests. They paid floral tributes to the statue of Major Dhyan Chand located near the AU Department of Physical Education, followed by the distribution of sweets to participating athletes.

Addressing the gathering, MLA Ganababu highlighted Dhyan Chand's unmatched contributions to Indian hockey and Olympic glory, urging young athletes to take him as a role model. He noted Visakhapatnam's growing stature as a prime hub for national-level sporting events through continuous infrastructure development.

AU Director of Physical Education Prof. N. Vijaya Mohan extended National Sports Day wishes to all athletes and sports associations.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from university principals, including Prof. M.V.R. Raju, Prof. K. Venkata S***aiah, Prof. K. Seetha Manikyam, Prof. G.
