The Launch of ‘The Fifth Space – Where Education Meets Responsibility’

A delegation of 10 students headed by the School Principal, Dr Pooja Malhotra and accompanied by a teacher, Ms. Monika Khurana from the School had the privilege of attending the unveiling of ‘The Fifth Space – Where Education Meets Responsibility’ on 24 August 2026 at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi. The initiative was unveiled by the National Commission for Women (NCW) in association with Mount Abu Public School, Rohini.

The event brought together eminent dignitaries, educators and stakeholders committed to creating safer, more inclusive and responsible educational spaces. The programme centred on the need to make educational institutions spaces that nurture not only academic excellence but also safety, dignity, equality, well-being and responsible citizenship. A key focus of the deliberations was gender equality, with emphasis on the need to sensitise boys and young men to respect women, understand gender equality and contribute to creating a culture of dignity and mutual respect.

The speakers also highlighted that student well-being must remain a priority in schools. Schools need to provide an environment where children feel safe, heard and supported. Equally important is ensuring that every child knows whom to approach and where to seek help when faced with a difficult, uncomfortable or unsafe situation. Creating awareness about available support systems can empower children to speak up and seek timely assistance.

The unveiling of The Fifth Space reaffirmed the need for educational institutions to function as spaces where learning is complemented by
student safety, gender sensitivity, social well-being, digital responsibility and leadership development.

The participation of the School in this significant event was a valuable learning experience for all the participants. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our respected Principal ma’am for giving us the opportunity to attend this insightful and thought-provoking event.

“A small act of kindness can make a big difference in a child’s life.”
On the occasion of World Humanitarian Day, 19 August 2026, our school participated in the “Give to Grow – One Kit. One Child. One Step Forward” project, initiated by the District Interact Council, RID 3011.
As part of this initiative, learning kits containing essential stationery items were prepared for children in need. Each kit included a notebook, colours, pencils, a sharpener, an eraser and a pen, providing children with basic resources to support their learning.
The project aimed to promote education and encourage the values of kindness, compassion and service. Through this initiative, our school took a meaningful step towards making a positive difference in the lives of children.

'SANKALP' Social Service Club of Adarsh Public School Vikas Puri organised a Mental Health Awareness Workshop for the students of Class VIII on 19 August 2026. The workshop aimed to create awareness about the importance of mental health and emotional well-being among adolescents.

The session was conducted by Ms. Naina Vivek Dave, a Clinical Psychologist with over 13 years of experience. She holds an M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology and has worked extensively with children and adults dealing with neurological and psychiatric concerns. She has also served as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Shri Balaji Action Medical Institute, Paschim Vihar, and as visiting faculty with Amity University and IGNOU.

During the session, Ms. Dave discussed important topics such as managing stress and emotions, academic pressure, self-esteem, positive thinking, healthy relationships and the importance of seeking help. She highlighted the role of proper sleep, healthy routines, physical activity and supportive relationships in maintaining good mental health.

The speaker also encouraged students to openly discuss their concerns with trusted adults and emphasised that seeking professional help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Students actively participated in the interactive session and gained practical insights into maintaining their emotional well-being and supporting others with empathy.

The workshop was an informative and enriching initiative, helping students understand the importance of mental health and encouraging them to adopt healthier and more positive approaches towards their emotional well-being.
