May the blessings of Maa Laxmi be always there for you and your loved ones..... May the festival of Dhanteras bring prosperity in your life.
"As per Hindu mythology, Lord Dhanvantari emerged during the Samudra Manthan between deities and demons. He holds a pot full of amrit in one hand and a book on Ayurveda on the other.
For Dhanteras, houses are cleaned beforehand. On the festival day, houses are decorated with rangoli to welcome the God. On the night, earthen diyas are lit in the houses to honor the God.
On this day, every household does puja for the overall happiness and prosperity of the family. Family members who stay away from their parents and siblings visit their homes on this day.
The official Diwali celebration begins from Dhanteras and continues till Govardhan Puja. People engage in exchanging gifts. Indian sweet soan papdi has become the unofficial sweet of the festival with everyone exchanging and gifting it to each other."
