When it comes to nuclear program of India the name that strikes first in our mind is Dr. Homi Jahangir baba.

It's death anniversary of Padma Bhushan, professor Bhabha, father of Indian nuclear power programme 🙏🙏

Bhabha studied engineering, mathematics and physics at the University of , before choosing to specialize in physics and . At an age of 31, he was elected as a fellow of the Royal Society, London. Bhabha rubbed shoulders with great physicists like , , , and others, who later became Noble Laureates.
He gained international prominence after deriving a correct expression for the probability of scattering by , a process now known as Bhabha (look the shown image). The Bhabha scattering rate is used as a luminosity monitor in electron-positron colliders. His major contribution included his work on Compton scattering, R-process, and furthermore the advancement of nuclear physics.
He was the founding director of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) in 1945 and Trombay Atomic Energy Establishment (later renamed Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, in his memory).
