BLDEA’s AVS Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya, Hospital and Research Centre, Vijayapura, celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The National Flag was hoisted by the respected Principal, Dr. Ashok Patil, in the presence of invited former Principals, faculty, staff, students and alumni.

The celebration was followed by vibrant cultural programmes, including the “Unity in Diversity – State Representation Competition”, with enthusiastic participation from all five houses- Dhairyam, Shouryam, Sthairyam, Mouryam, Vajram, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of India.

The programme was organised by the Cultural Committee, OJAS 2026 Student Union, in collaboration with the NSS Unit.

The Central Library of BLDEA’s AVS Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya Hospital & Research Centre, Vijayapura celebrated National Librarians’ Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, the Father of Library Science in India.

The programme began with a Pooja and floral tribute to Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, performed by the Guest Speaker, Dr. M. M. Bachalapur, Chief Librarian, BLDEA’s V. P. Dr. P. G. Halakatti College of Engineering & Technology, Vijayapura, along with Dr. Ashok Patil, Principal, and Dr. Asha Halemani, Librarian. All the teaching staff were present during the celebration.

Following the pooja, a guest lecture was conducted on the topic “Beyond Books: Reimagining Academic Libraries in the Age of AI, Open Science, and Research Excellence.” The lecture was attended by all the 3rd Phase senior students, along with the teaching staff.The programme concluded successfully with active participation from the faculty members and students.

The Department of Rachana Shareera, BLDEA’s AVS Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya Hospital & Research Centre, Vijayapur, organized an Inter-Collegiate Body Painting Competition on 12th August 2026 on the eve of World Organ Donation Day.

Students from four colleges—BLDEA’s AVS AMV, RKM Ayurvedic Medical College, BNM Nagur Ayurvedic Medical College, and Luqman Unani Medical College, Vijayapur—participated enthusiastically, with 22 groups taking part.

The event was presided over by Dr. Ashok Patil, Principal, and organized by Dr. Shivakumar Yaragal, Organizing Secretary, and Dr. Rafiyabanu Talikoti, Co-Organizing Secretary. Dr. R. S. Bulagouda and Dr. Qureshi, Department of Anatomy, BLDE (Deemed to be University), served as judges.

The competition aimed to promote anatomical knowledge, creativity, teamwork, and hands-on learning through body painting. The event was conducted successfully with active participation and enthusiasm from all students.

Educational Visit to the Department of Physiology and Advanced Skill Lab, BLDE (Deemed to be University), Shri B. M. Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Vijayapur.
The Department of Kriya Shareera, BLDEA’s AVS Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya, Hospital & Research Centre, Vijayapura, organised an Educational Visit to the Department of Physiology and Advanced Skill Lab, BLDE (Deemed to be University), Shri B. M. Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Vijayapura for 92 First Phase BAMS students.

The students were accompanied by Dr. Ashwini Nimbal, Professor and Head, Department of Kriya Shareera; Dr. Shruti Hiremath, Associate Professor, Department of Kriya Shareera; and Ms. Swapna Y., Lab Technician.

The visit was organised in accordance with the academic curriculum of Kriya Shareera and the NCISM curriculum, which integrates Ayurvedic and Modern Physiology. The students were introduced to modern physiological instruments, clinical examination procedures, physiological investigations, advanced laboratory facilities, and simulation-based skill learning. The hands-on exposure helped them understand the practical application of physiological concepts and clinical skills taught in the classroom.

The visit provided an enriching academic experience and helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. It enhanced the students’ understanding of contemporary physiological practices and strengthened their interest in skill-based and experiential learning.

The Department of Kriya Shareera sincerely expresses its gratitude to Dr. Lata Mullur, Professor and HOD, Department of Physiology, and Prof. Dr. Karajagi, Skill Lab In-charge, BLDE (Deemed to be University), Shri B. BLDEA AVS AYURVEDA MAHAVIDYALAYA, Vijayapura Alumni Association had organised Free Health check up Camp for 10th girls of St Joseph's school Vijayapura, More than 190 students got benefitted by this camp. The inauguration of Free Health Check up Camp was done by performing lord Dhanvantari Pooja.

BLDEA’s AVS Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya, Hospital & Research Centre, Vijayapura, Department of Kaumarabhritya and Department of Prasootitantra Evam Stree Roga, organized an educational visit for the III Professional BAMS students to the Human Milk Bank, Civil Hospital, Vijayapura, as part of the observance of World Breastfeeding Week 2026.

During the visit, Dr. Gayatri Misal, Medical Officer and Staff members, Human Milk Bank, provided an insightful orientation on the functioning and significance of a Human Milk Bank. She elaborated on the various stages involved in the collection, processing, preservation, and storage of human milk along with its importance in promoting and supporting infant health and nutrition.

The visit was coordinated by Dr. Vijayalaxmi Benakatti, Professor and HOD, Department of Kaumarabhritya; Dr. Vijayalaxmi Hadimani, Associate Professor, Department of Prasootitantra Evam Stree Roga; Dr. Javeed Bagayat, Associate Professor, Department of Kaumarabhritya; and Dr. Rajkumar Wali, Assistant Professor, Department of Prasootitantra Evam Stree Roga.

A total of 56 III Professional BAMS students benefited from the visit and gained valuable practical exposure to the functioning of a Human Milk Bank.
