"Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan"
Government Science College, Veraval successfully hosted the "Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan" on 2nd August 2026 under the directions of the Commissionerate of Higher Education, Education Department, Government of Gujarat. The programme was organized under the guidance of Dr. Smita B. Chhag, Principal, and coordinated by Dr. Sachin M. Sitapara. The event brought together participants from various higher educational institutions of Veraval to strengthen the nationwide campaign for a drug-free India.
The programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of more than 20 professors and 127 students, including 65 male and 62 female students from different higher educational institutions of Veraval. During the programme, all the participants solemnly took the "Drug-Free India (Nasha Mukt Bharat) Pledge", reaffirming their commitment to staying away from substance abuse and promoting a healthy, addiction-free society. The highlight of the event was the virtual address by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who inspired the Gen-Z youth to actively contribute towards building a Nasha Mukt Bharat and realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat.
The programme concluded with a renewed sense of responsibility among the participants to spread awareness about the harmful effects of addiction and encourage a healthy lifestyle in society. The pledge, coupled with the Prime Minister's inspiring message, motivated students and faculty members to become ambassadors of the Nasha Mukt Bharat movement and reaffirmed their dedication towards the vision of Viksit Bharat, making the event highly meaningful and impactful.

Government Science College, Veraval conducted an Anti-Ragging Sensitization Programme under the guidance of Principal Dr. Smita Chhag. The session was coordinated by Prof. Dr. Priya Mange and Prof. Kajal Barad.

Students were sensitized about UGC Anti-Ragging Regulations, the importance of maintaining a safe and inclusive campus, and the legal consequences of ragging. All students also completed and submitted the mandatory Anti-Ragging Undertaking/Affidavit as part of the compliance process.

Completion of Finishing School Training (Modules-1&2 Life Skills) – Batch 5 (2026–27)

Government Science College, Veraval, successfully completed the Finishing School Training Programme (Batch-1&2 : Life Skills : Batch 5) on 22nd July 2026. A total of 42 Third-Year B.Sc. students enthusiastically enrolled and participated in the programme.

Module-1 of life skills training session was conducted by Mr. Vishal Mehta while module-2 of life skill training was conducted by Mr. Jeet Manghani who served as resource persons and trainer for the batch. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Dhananjay Pandya, Finishing School Coordinator of the college.

The training programme was launched under the guidance and leadership of Dr. Smita Chhag, Principal of Government Science College, Veraval, with the objective of enhancing students’ life skills, employability, communication abilities and overall personality development.
