ജൂൺ 26 അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര മയക്കുമരുന്ന് വിരുദ്ധ ദിനം (The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking). മയക്കുമരുന്നിന്റെ ഉപയോഗത്തിനും അനധികൃത കടത്തിനും എതിരായ സന്ദേശം പ്രചരിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനായാണ് ഈ ദിനം ആചരിച്ചു പോരുന്നത്.
ആരോഗ്യമുള്ള സമൂഹത്തിനായി ലഹരിയുടെ പിടിയിൽ നിന്ന് യുവത്വത്തെ രക്ഷപെടുത്താനും കുടുംബ ബന്ധങ്ങൾ തകരാതിരിക്കാനും ലഹരി ഒഴിവാക്കുക എന്ന ആഹ്വാനവുമായി ഇന്ന് ലോക ലഹരി വിരുദ്ധ ദിനം ആചരിക്കുകയാണ്.

ലോക ലഹരിവിരുദ്ധദിനത്തിന്റെ 2024 ലെ പ്രമേയം,’തെളിവുകള്‍ വ്യക്തമാണ്; പ്രതിരോധത്തില്‍ നിക്ഷേപിക്കുക’ എന്നതാണ്.

ലഹരിയെന്ന വൻ വിപത്തിനെതിരെ രാജ്യാന്തര സമൂഹത്തെ ഉണർത്തുകയെന്ന ലക്ഷ്യവുമായാണ് ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്ര സംഘടന 1987 മുതൽ ജൂൺ 26 ലോക ലഹരി വിരുദ്ധ ദിനമായി ആചരിച്ചു വരുന്നത്.
ലഹരിക്കെതിരെ ഏറ്റവും ഫലപ്രദമായ മാർഗം ബോധവൽക്കരണമാണ്. കുട്ടികൾക്കിടയിൽ ലഹരി ഉപയോഗം കൂടിവരുന്നതായാണ് റിപ്പോർട്ടുകൾ. ശാരീരികവും മാനസികവും സാമൂഹ്യവുമായ പ്രത്യാഘാതങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് ഒട്ടും ആലോചിക്കാതെയാണ് പലരും ലഹരിവസ്തുക്കൾക്ക് പുറകെ പോകുന്നത്.

The World Day Against Child Labour is an International Labour Organization (ILO)-sanctioned holiday first launched in 2002 aiming to raise awareness and activism to prevent child labour. It was spurred by ratifications of ILO Convention No.138 on the minimum age for employment and ILO Convention No.182 on the worst forms of child labour.
