Projected by the DST as a 'National Facility' for R&D and Training, the centre caters to postgraduate, doctoral and postdoctoral researchers.

Over the years, the centre has brought out a large number of researchers who have gone on to build strong careers in academia, industry, and entrepreneurial sectors.
