With the immense grace of God,

we are delighted to share the completion of the One-Day National Level Workshop on "Emerging Business Opportunities in the Digital Era", organized by the Department of Commerce and Business Administration Vailankanni Matha Arts and Science College, Prathabaramapuram, on 14 August 2026.

The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, research scholars, students, and delegates from various institutions. The inaugural session was graced by our esteemed Secretary Rev. Fr. Adhi Arokiasamy, Principal Dr. V. John Martin, distinguished faculty members, and invited guests, whose inspiring words motivated the participants.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our eminent Resource Persons, Dr. R. Rajesh Ramkumar and Prof. P. C. Selvakumar, for delivering insightful and thought-provoking sessions. Their expertise and practical perspectives on emerging business opportunities in the digital era greatly enriched the knowledge of the participants and made the workshop highly interactive and informative.

We sincerely thank our Management, Secretary, Principal, Heads of Departments, Faculty Members, Non-Teaching Staff, Student Coordinators, Volunteers, and every participant for their wholehearted support, dedication, and cooperation. The tireless efforts of the organizing committee and volunteers ensured the smooth and successful conduct of every session, from registration to the valedictory programme.

Signing of MoU and Workshop on
“Empowering the Next Generation through Computational Technologies and Mobile App Development”

The PG Department of Computer Science (CS & BCA) and the Department of Information Technology (IT & AI) of Vailankanni Matha Arts and Science College (VMASC) jointly organized the Signing of MoU and Workshop on “Empowering the Next Generation through Computational Technologies and Mobile App Development” on 12.08.2026 at the college campus.

The programme commenced with the Tamil Thai Vazhthu, invoking the blessings of the Almighty and setting a dignified tone for the event.

The Welcome Address was delivered by Mr.O.A.R.Mohamed Hassan, HoD of Computer Science, VMASC. He warmly welcomed the dignitaries, resource person, Heads of Departments, faculty members and students. He highlighted the importance of computational technologies and mobile application development in the present educational and professional environment.

The Presidential Address was delivered by Rev.Fr.A.Adhi Arokiasamy, Secretary, VMASC. In his address, he emphasized the importance of providing students with opportunities to acquire practical knowledge and industry-oriented skills. He encouraged the students to make effective use of such workshops to enhance their technical abilities and prepare themselves for future career opportunities.

The Keynote Address was delivered by Dr.V.John Martin, Principal, VMASC. He highlighted the significance of emerging technologies, computational thinking and mobile application development in the rapidly changing digital world. He encouraged the students to develop innovative ideas, strengthen their practical skills and continuously update their knowledge in emerging areas of technology.

The Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was an important part of the programme. The MoU was established between Vailankanni Matha Arts & Science College and Programming with RAM Institute, Thiruthuraipoondi, represented by Prof. S. Ramprakash, Chief Executive Officer. The collaboration is intended to promote academic and technical development, practical training, skill enhancement and industry-oriented learning opportunities for students.

The Resource Person, Prof.S.Ramprakash, CEO, Programming with RAM Institute, Thiruthuraipoondi, conducted the workshop. He delivered an informative and engaging session on “Empowering the Next Generation through Computational Technologies and Mobile App Development.” He explained the importance of computational technologies and discussed how emerging digital technologies are transforming education, employment and various professional sectors.

The resource person also introduced the students to the fundamentals and practical aspects of Mobile Application Development. The session focused not only on theoretical concepts but also on practical implementation. Students were given a hands-on learning experience on how to create a mobile application, enabling them to understand the basic development process and apply the concepts practically.

The workshop provided students with valuable exposure to current technological trends and encouraged them to explore programming, application development and innovative digital solutions. The interactive nature of the session enabled students to clarify their doubts and gain a better understanding of the concepts discussed.

Nearly 250+ students from various programmes of the college actively participated in the workshop. The students gained useful knowledge and practical exposure in the areas of computational technologies and mobile app development. The programme served as an effective platform for enhancing their technical knowledge, creativity, problem-solving skills and awareness of emerging career opportunities in the technology sector.

The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Mrs.D.Abinaya, HoD of Information Technology, VMASC. She expressed her sincere gratitude to the Secretary, Principal, resource person, Heads of Departments, faculty members, organizing team, non-teaching staff and students for their valuable support and active participation in making the programme successful.

The programme concluded with the National Anthem, marking the successful completion of the Signing of MoU and Workshop.

Conclusion

The Signing of MoU and Workshop on “Empowering the Next Generation through Computational Technologies and Mobile App Development” was a highly informative and beneficial academic programme. The collaboration with Programming with RAM Institute provided students with an opportunity to gain practical and industry-oriented knowledge. The hands-on training in mobile app development particularly helped the participants understand how technological concepts can be transformed into practical applications.

The programme successfully achieved its objective of empowering students with knowledge of computational technologies, emerging digital trends and mobile application development. It also strengthened the institution's commitment to providing students with quality education, practical exposure and skill-based learning opportunities.

With the immense grace of God and under the guidance of our respected Secretary, Rev.Fr.A.Adhi Arokiasamy, the Alumni Meeting of the 2023–2026 Batch Students was successfully conducted on 31.07.2026 with enthusiastic participation from the alumni. The programme commenced with the Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by the Welcome Address delivered by Mrs.M.Jesmina Begam, Alumni Committee Member. The gathering was enriched by the Presidential Address of Dr.V.John Martin, Principal, VMASC, who inspired the alumni to maintain a strong bond with their alma mater and continue contributing to its growth and development. The meeting was further enlivened by the alumni, who shared their cherished memories and experiences of their college life. The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Mr.T.Karthi, Alumni Coordinator, expressing gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the event. The meeting came to a close with the National Anthem. *AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON ANTI-DRUG AND SU***DE PREVENTION CAMP*

The Youth Red Cross (YRC) Unit of Vailankanni Matha Arts and Science College (VMASC), in association with the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Nagapattinam District, successfully organized an Awareness Programme on Anti-Drug and Su***de Prevention Camp on 30th July 2026 at 09:30 a.m. in the Mini Hall of the college.
The programme commenced with the Welcome Address delivered by Mr. Thanga Mohan, District Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Nagapattinam. He warmly welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members, and students and emphasized the importance of creating awareness among young people about the dangers of drug abuse and the significance of mental well-being.
The Presidential Address was delivered by Rev. Fr. A. Adhi Arokiasamy, who highlighted the responsibility of educational institutions in guiding students towards a healthy, disciplined, and value-based life. He encouraged students to stay away from harmful substances and to seek help whenever they face emotional or psychological challenges.
The Special Address was delivered by Dr. Vinoothini Ramakrishnan, Vice Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society, Nagapattinam District. She stressed the importance of mental health awareness, early intervention, and building a supportive environment to prevent substance abuse and suicidal tendencies among youth.
The Resource Person, Mr. M. Praveen, delivered an insightful and interactive session on Anti-Drug Abuse and Su***de Prevention. He explained the harmful effects of drug addiction on individuals, families, and society. He also discussed the warning signs of emotional distress, methods of managing stress, and the importance of seeking timely guidance and professional support. His motivating speech encouraged students to adopt healthy lifestyles, develop positive attitudes, and become ambassadors of awareness in their communities.
As part of the programme, prizes were distributed to the winners of the Speech, Essay Writing, and Drawing Competitions conducted on 28th July 2026 in connection with the awareness campaign.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Mr. R.Mahesh, VMASC YRC Staff Member, who expressed his sincere gratitude to the management, the Indian Red Cross Society, the distinguished guests, faculty members, student volunteers, and all participants for making the programme a grand success.
More than 250 students actively participated in the awareness programme. The event successfully enhanced students' understanding of the dangers of drug abuse, the importance of mental health, and the need to support individuals facing emotional challenges. The programme served as a meaningful initiative in promoting a healthy, responsible, and drug-free society.

An Anti-Drug Awareness Rally was successfully organized by Vailankanni Matha Arts and Science College, Prathabaramapuram, on Friday, 24 July 2026, at Thiruthuraipoondi with the objective of creating a drug-free society. The programme was presided over by Rev. Fr. A. Adhi Arokiasamy, Secretary of the College. Dr. V. John Martin, Principal, delivered the welcome address. The Chief Guest, Thiru K. Marimuthu, M.Com., Hon'ble Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA), Thiruthuraipoondi Constituency, inaugurated the rally by delivering the inaugural address and flagging it off. The rally commenced from the New Bus Stand, Thiruthuraipoondi, and proceeded through the major streets of the town before concluding at the MLA Office. Following the rally, Mrs. A. Manjula, B.Sc., Inspector of Police, Thiruthuraipoondi, and Mr. G. Mohanraj, M.E., Sub-Inspector of Police, addressed the gathering and created awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of ensuring a safe and healthy society. The programme concluded with the valedictory address by Mrs. P. Kavitha Pandian, Chairperson of Thiruthuraipoondi Municipality. Faculty members and a large number of students of the college actively participated in the rally by carrying awareness banners and placards displaying anti-drug slogans, thereby spreading the message of a drug-free society among the public.

The Students' ExNoRa Unit of Vailankanni Matha Arts and Science College (VMASC), affiliated with Bharathidasan University, was inaugurated on Wednesday, 15 July 2026, at 10.00 a.m. in the college auditorium. The programme was organized in association with Youth ExNoRa International and featured a motivational workshop on the theme "Youth Empowerment." The function commenced with the Tamil Thaai Vazhthu, followed by the Welcome Address delivered by the Principal, Dr.V.John Martin. The Presidential Address was delivered by Rev.Fr.Adhi Arokiasamy, Secretary of VMASC. The Chief Guest, Exn.K.S.S. Senthurpari, President of ExNoRa International Foundation, formally inaugurated the Students' ExNoRa Unit. In his inaugural address, he emphasized the significance of environmental protection, social responsibility, and active youth participation in nation-building. On the occasion, he also released the book titled "Dinamalar Environmental Awareness." The first copies of the book were received by the Secretary, the Principal, and the student representatives. Special addresses were delivered by Exn. P. Mohan, Coordinator of University Students ExNoRa and Founder of Youth ExNoRa International, and Exn. G. Prabu, Vice President of University Students ExNoRa. They motivated the students to actively engage in community service, environmental conservation initiatives, and leadership development activities. The programme was further graced by the presence of Mr.S.Shaik dawood and Mr.S.Vedhavinayagam, District Coordinators of ExNoRa. Faculty members, students, and administrative staff participated enthusiastically, making the event a grand success. The function concluded with the Vote of Thanks, leaving the students inspired to become responsible citizens and contribute towards building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable society through dedicated service and environmental stewardship.

The Freshers' Day 2026–2027 celebration was held on 1 July 2026 at the VMASC campus. The event was organized to warmly welcome the first-year students into the VMASC family and help them feel comfortable in their new academic environment. The programme featured a warm welcome address, inspiring speeches by the management and faculty members. The celebrations created an atmosphere of joy, enthusiasm, and friendship, encouraging interaction between juniors and seniors.
