Yogini Ekadashi

Ekadashi which comes after Nirjala Ekadashi and before Devshayani Ekadashi is known as Yogini Ekadashi. Yogini Ekadashi falls during Krishna Paksha of Ashadha month according to the North Indian calendar and during Krishna Paksha of Jyeshta month according to the South Indian calendar. Currently, it falls in the month of June or July in the English calendar.

Parana means breaking the fast. Ekadashi Parana is done after sunrise on the next day of the Ekadashi fast. It is necessary to do Parana within Dwadashi Tithi unless Dwadashi is over before sunrise.

Observing this vrat with devotion may relieve various health ailments.

Kuber, a Shiva Bhakt, used to worship Shiva daily. He offered flowers to Shiva that was brought from Mansarovar by a Yaksha Hem Mali.
One day, Hem Mali was spending time with his wife and forgot to bring flowers.

Angered Kuber cursed him to suffer from leprosy.

Hem Mali wandered for years in forests when one day, Maharishi Markandeya advised him to observe Yogini Ekadashi Vrat.

Hem Mali kept the fast with full devotion and was cured of all his sins. He was free from the disease and reunited with his beloved wife once again.

We all should try to keep this fast & should chant the maha mantra.
