Navratri is an annual and one of the most revered festivals observed in the honour of Mother Goddess Durga. The festival is associated to the prominent battle that took place between Durga and the demon Mahishasura to celebrate the victory of good over evil.These nine days are solely dedicated to Durga and her nine avatars – the Navadurga.Each day is associated to an incarnation of the goddess.

वर्ष 14 सितंबर को देश में हिंदी दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है| यह दिन हिंदी भाषा के महत्व को पहचानने और युवा पीढ़ी को इसके अधिक उपयोग करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करता है| दुनिया भर में लगभग 120 मिलियन लोग दूसरी भाषा के रूप में हिंदी बोलते हैं, और 420 मिलियन से अधिक लोग इसे अपनी मातृभाषा के रूप में बोलते हैं|

आजादी मिलने के दो साल बाद 14 सितबंर 1949 को संविधान सभा में एक मत से हिंदी को राजभाषा घोषित किया गया था। इस निर्णय के बाद हिंदी को हर क्षेत्र में प्रसारित करने के लिए राष्ट्रभाषा प्रचार समिति, वर्धा के अनुरोध पर 1953 से पूरे भारत में 14 सितंबर को हर साल हिंदी दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाने लगा। 14 सितंबर 1953 को पहली बार देश में हिंदी दिवस मनाया गया।

हिन्‍दी से जुड़ी दिलचस्प बातें-
1. इंग्लिश और मंदारिन के बाद हिंदी विश्व की तीसरी सबसे ज्यादा बोली जाने वाली भाषा है।

2. दुनिया की सबसे प्रसिद्ध ऑक्सफोर्ड डिक्शनरी (शब्दकोश) हर साल भारतीय शब्दों को जगह दे रही है।

3. दक्षिण प्रशांत महासागर क्षेत्र में फिजी नाम का एक द्वीप देश है जहां हिंदी को आधिकारिक भाषा का दर्जा दिया गया है।

4. भारत के अलावा मॉरीशस, फिलीपींस, नेपाल, फिजी, गुयाना, सुरिनाम, त्रिनिदाद, तिब्बत और पाकिस्तान में कुछ परिवर्तनों के साथ ही सही लेकिन हिंदी बोली और समझी जाती है।

5. हिंदी में उच्चतर शोध के लिए भारत सरकार ने 1963 में केंद्रीय हिंदी संस्थान की स्थापना की। देश भर में इसके आठ केंद्र हैं।

6. अभी विश्‍व के सैंकड़ों विश्‍वविद्यालयों में हिन्‍दी पढ़ाई जाती है और पूरी दुनिया में करोड़ों लोग हिन्‍दी बोलते हैं। अमेरिका में लगभग एक सौ पचास से ज्यादा शैक्षणिक संस्थानों में हिंदी का पठन-पाठन हो रहा है।

7. हिंदी को वैश्विक स्तर पर बढ़ावा देने के लिए 1975 से ‘विश्र्व हिंदी सम्मेलन’ का आयोजन शुरू किया गया। हिंदी को वैश्विक स्तर पर बढ़ावा देने के लिए 10 जनवरी को हर साल विश्व हिंदी दिवस भी आयोजित किया जाता है।

8. भारत, फिजी के अलावा मॉरीशस, फिलीपींस, अमेरिका, न्यूजीलैंड, यूगांडा, सिंगापुर, नेपाल, गुयाना, सुरिनाम, त्रिनिदाद, तिब्बत, दक्षिण अफ्रीका, सूरीनाम ,यूनाइटेड किंगडम, जर्मनी और पाकिस्तान में कुछ परिवर्तनों के साथ ही सही लेकिन हिंदी बोली और समझी जाती है।

9. हिंदी का नाम फारसी शब्द ‘हिंद’ से लिया गया है, जिसका अर्थ है सिंधु नदी की भूमि। फारसी बोलने वाले तुर्क जिन्होंने गंगा के मैदान और पंजाब पर आक्रमण किया, 11वीं शताब्दी की शुरुआत में सिंधु नदी के किनारे बोली जाने वाली भाषा को ‘हिंदी’ नाम दिया था। यह भाषा भारत की आधिकारिक भाषा है और संयुक्त अरब अमीरात में एक मान्यता प्राप्त अल्पसंख्यक भाषा है।

10. मत बंटने से हिंदी नहीं बन पाई देश की राष्ट्रभाषा
राष्‍ट्रपिता महात्‍मा गांधी ने हिन्‍दी को जनमानस की भाषा कहा था। वह चाहते थे कि हिन्दी राष्ट्रभाषा बने। उन्‍होंने 1918 में आयोजित हिन्‍दी साहित्‍य सम्‍मेलन में हिन्‍दी को राष्‍ट्र भाषा बनाने के लिए कहा था। आजादी मिलने के बाद लंबे विचार-विमर्श के बाद आखिरकार 14 सितंबर 1949 को संविधान सभा में हिन्‍दी को राज भाषा बनाने का फैसला लिया गया। हिन्दी का राष्ट्रभाषा बनाए जाने के विचार से बहुत से लोग खुश नहीं थे। कइयों का कहना था कि सबको हिंदी ही बोलनी है तो आजादी के क्या मायने रह जाएंगे। ऐसे में हिंदी राष्ट्रभाषा नहीं बन सकी।

Kargil Vijay Diwas is commemorated every 26 July in India, to observe India's victory over Pakistan in the Kargil War for ousting Pakistani Forces from their occupied positions on the mountain tops of Northern Kargil District in Ladakh in 1999.

In honour of the Army's successful mission (called Operation Vijay),Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated every year since then.
