Hello delegates! Hope you've all been well. We really hope to see you this year at NIMUN 5. For registration information, email us at [email protected]

28/07/2015

We take great pleasure to inform you that the 5th Navrachana International Model United Nations [NIMUN 5] will be held on the 4th and 5th September’2015, as we dedicate another year to simulating the United Nations Organisation as an effective instrument of international peace and growth amidst the
challenges of international affairs.

NIMUN has been a very charged and stimulating experience for participating students. This years simulation shall feature seven committees of the UNO, which are carefully chosen to challenge the enthusiastic with the dynamic opportunity to engage with global issues. They are:

1. United Nations Security Council (UNSC)

2. United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)

3. Disarmament and International Security Committee (UNGA1-DISEC)

4. Economic and Financial Committee (UNGA2-ECOFIN)

5. Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Committee (UNGA3-SOCHUM)

6. World Health Organisation (WHO)

7. International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)

Nimun 5 will see a Press Corps in action in recognition of the crucial role the emancipated press plays in any global crisis. Both exciting and challenging, and with access to all committee proceedings, the Press Corps will have the opportunity to view the debate from the perspective of International Media.

The concluding session shall witness the simulation of the General Assembly to address a crisis

Besides grooming International mindedness and an awareness of their role as informed citizens of the world, student delegates acquire, most importantly, that cutting edge finesse which the decorum of this simulation provides. A robust platform for discussion and debate, NIMUN also aims for the multifaceted enhancement of social and emotional skills of the delegates as well.

Greetings from the NIMUN Secretariat! With just a day left for NIMUN III, anticipation and excitement are on the rise. This year, to add to the vigour of the proceedings, the Secretariat has decided to simulate the General Assembly. The General Assembly, which shall be chaired by the Secretary General, has decided on a burning issue for discussion. Each school team shall be assigned a country on Day 1 of NIMUN III and shall be required to form a Delegation comprising no more than 5 delegates. The School Teams will get a day to prepare for the issue under discussion from the perspective of the respective countries allotted. The subject to be deliberated upon in the General Assembly this year is the “Pakistan sponsored Proxy War on India”. The General Assembly’s primary aim would be to pass a resolution leading to a peaceful solution of the issue at hand.
Wish you all the very best!

Warm Regards,
NIMUN Secretariat
