The truth of love by Rabindranath Tagore

Robiroshshi will stage a dance drama named Teen Konya to celebrate its 18th anniversary on 24th Aug’13;Saturday.
Teen Konya is Robiroshshi’s innovation conceived by Tagore’s ‘Robimanoshi’ or lady of the mind. It is a trilogy based on Tagore’s three female-centric masterpieces: Chandalika, Shyama and Chitrangada. The three characters are somewhat connected by a string of similar thoughts yet apparently unattached. Chitrangada is a character wrapped in colourful glory and mild subtlety whereas Chandalika is a lady of flame like temperament and has a magical aura surrounding her. These qualities are found missing in Shyama but she is a sensitive lady who touches the hearts of people very well. The trio goes to any extend to achieve its love and even travels the forbidden roads.
Thus,Teen Konya presents a question to all,are the deeds of these ladies to achieve their love worth forgiveness?

Join the Robiroshshi Family to explore the great world of Rabindranath Tagore......
In terms of Tagore songs or Robrindro songeet, Robiroshshi’s contribution has been profound so far; songs based on Ragas, songs inspired from foreign tunes, a song’s history, Taals created by Tagore or ‘Robindrosrishto-taal’, Shastriya taal, varied rag raginis’ are introduced and taught to the students here, all as an organic unity. Thus, Robiroshshi encapsulates all Tagorian philosophies, feelings and ideas, making it our life and soul. Robiroshshians live with Tagore and live in Tagore’s works and ideas.
The first fruit of Robiroshshi’s long journey was showcased in its first yearly function in Vadodara’s Shree Arobindo Nivas. Every year, Robiroshshi with its Nritya natyas and Geeti natyas has made a mark in the field of music and now belongs to the cultural best of Vadodara. The Nritya natyas that have pleased the Barodians so far cannot be discussed in few words; specially dance dramas like, ‘Nabojug’, ‘Teen Konya’, ‘Mayar Khela’, ‘Tasher Desh’, ‘Basobadatta’, ‘Kalmrigaya’ etc have set up a new standard in Vadodara’s cultural arena and given it an all new vigour. Other than these, Robiroshshi’s significant efforts to stage Nritya natya like ‘Pujarini’ and Geeti natya like ‘Poth o Pothik’ with children as participants, received many accolades.
Men and women from India’s different provinces like Maharashtra, Punjab, Madras and Gujarat have participated with a lot of enthusiasm and interest in Robiroshshi’s programes. Moreover, not just significant Bengali figures, but non-Bengalis like Mrs. Shanti Dighe, Mr. Vishnu Mahajan, Mrs. Nandita Amin were present as chief guests in Robiroshshi’s annual convocations. This is why it can be said that Robiroshshi is acting as a bridge between Bengali culture and other Indian cultures.
Robiroshshi, founded in the year 1995 is a music school that has been contributing to enhance the culture of Bengal and Bengalis’ in Vadodara. Its first venture was ‘Abhishar’- a dance drama, staged in Premanand Hall in the year 1996. It was a successful one but the school had not yet reached its zenith. Within a year, Robiroshshi in unison, became Vadodara’s best and the most popular institution to have practiced Tagore as a unity.
Robiroshshi made the endeavour to develop an interest about Tagore songs or ‘Robindro songeet’’ in people of varied age groups and regions, belonging not only to Vadodara but to different parts of Gujarat. Not just teaching to sing a song, but presenting an entire song in the form of a story, pictorial rendering of the songs to enable complete understanding of them, are a part of the pedagogy followed in Robiroshshi. Popularising Tagore in the hearts of the new generation is Robiroshshi’s primary effort.
