Why can your child read a word right, but still spell it wrong? Because reading and spelling are not the
same skill. That is why a child can read "rain" easily, but write it as "raen."
Reading is like multiple choice. Spelling is like fill in the blanks. Fill in the blanks is always harder.
Here is something interesting: one sound can be spelled in many ways. Look at the /ee/ sound: it is
"ee" in bee, "ea" in sea, and "y" in happy. Same sound, three spellings! No wonder children get
confused.

your child learns the pattern behind the sound, so new words become easy too.
Try this at home: say a word slowly and ask your child to tap once for each sound before writing it. This
"sound boxes" trick helps them hear each sound clearly first.
