Children are not meant to unfold on a deadline.

There is a quiet pressure in modern parenting to keep children moving —
more classes,
more skills,
more structure,
more “readiness.”

But childhood does not grow in straight lines.

Children return to the same games.
They linger.
They daydream.
They move slowly through feelings, stories, questions, and wonder.

And often, what looks like “doing nothing”
is actually deep emotional and neurological work happening beneath the surface.

At Tadpole, we believe children do not need to be pushed through childhood.
They need safety, connection, imagination, and time.

Time to feel.
Time to play.
Time to become themselves.

Not because they were told to.
Not because they were “learning outcomes.”

But because the stories started feeling like friends.
