Empowering children with body safety and consent education.

Photos from Kidsonalert's post 14/04/2026

A lot of parents think body safety education means:
❌ Never letting your child out of your sight
❌ Teaching them the world is full of dangerous strangers
❌ Having strict rules and lots of fear

It doesn't. Body safety education is actually about giving your child confidence, not anxiety. It means they know their body belongs to them. πŸ’›

They know the correct words for their private parts.
They know the difference between safe secrets and unsafe secrets.
They know what a "tricky person" looks, sounds and feels like.
They know they can ALWAYS tell you β€” and you will always believe them.

A child who has been taught these things is not a scared child. They are an empowered child. And empowered children are safer children. Save this if it shifted something for you. πŸ”–

An important message for all kids.
Being strong doesn't mean that you can't reach out for help. Or that you have to manage everything alone.

Kids CAN ask adults they trust for help. And for that to happen, the adults in their life (parents, teachers, and other family members need to be:

Be available for talks
Be non-judgmental
Be approachable
Be non-threatening (i.e., not punishing kids for things they may have done wrong)
