Independence Day was celebrated at St Francis English Medium School, Mudarangadi, with great patriotic fervour. Rev. Fr Vincent Coelho, Correspondent, presided over the programme and hoisted the National Flag.

Jenica D’Souza welcomed the gathering, while Kushi Devadiga compered the programme. SPL Hitha Shetty spoke on the significance of Independence Day and the sacrifices of our freedom fighters. The school choir presented a melodious patriotic song, followed by a beautiful patriotic dance by the students.

In his inspiring address, Rev. Fr Vincent Coelho highlighted the significance of the three colours of the National Flag and the values of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity enshrined in the Preamble.

Mrs. Lucy D’Souza, Vice President, and Mrs. Vijaya Mathias, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council, graced the occasion. Parents and parishioners also joined the celebration.

Johan proposed the vote of thanks. Headmistress and the staff members worked together to make the celebration a memorable success.

Sweets were distributed to all those present, sponsored by Mrs. Juliana D’Souza, Mudarangadi, in memory of Isidore Mark D’Souza.

Blue Day was celebrated at St Francis English Medium School with great enthusiasm. The little ones looked adorable in blue, making the day colourful and joyful. The celebration helped children learn about the colour blue through fun activities and joyful participation. 💙

Atid Onji Dina – Celebrating Togetherness
“Atid Onji Dina” was celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm at St Francis English Medium School, Mudarangadi. The staff prepared a wonderful variety of traditional dishes and shared a meal together. The celebration beautifully reflected our rich culture, tradition, unity and togetherness.

The first Parent–Teacher Meeting of the academic year 2026–2027 was held on 7 August 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in the school auditorium. The programme began with a prayer.
The resource person, Rev. Fr Kiran Nazareth, SDB, addressed the parents on effective parenting. He highlighted the importance of controlling anger, spending quality time with children, caring for their health and nutrition and limiting mobile phone usage.
The programme was presided over by the School Correspondent, Rev. Fr Vincent Coelho, who spoke about the responsibilities of parents in shaping their children's future and instilling good values, discipline and character.
The Headmistress, Mrs Sunitha DSouza, delivered the introductory address and presented the school report. Mr. Niranjan Bhat, Kannada Language Teacher, compered the programme, and proposed the vote of thanks.
The meeting was attended by the teaching staff and witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of parents. The programme concluded on a positive note, strengthening the partnership between parents and the school for the overall development of every child.

Students watched the film “Pencil Box,” which conveyed meaningful messages on education, friendship, discipline and good values. The film was both enjoyable and educational, helping students learn important life lessons beyond the classroom.

Students gained valuable practical experience in the agricultural field through the “ಹಸಿರು ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ – ಕೃಷಿಯ ಕಡೆಗೆ” programme. The programme helped them understand farming practices and appreciate the importance of agriculture and the hard work of farmers.
