The 75th Independence Day celebration was held on 15th August, 2021 in the school premises.

It was celebrated in the presence of the school Correspondent, Very Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa, Commodore Jerome Castelino - VSM, Ex. Navy was the chief guest and Fr. Steevan Nelson Peris the assistant parish priest of Our Lady of Health church, Shirva was the Guest of Honour.

The grand inauguration of the senior Secondary section at Don Bosco English Medium School (CBSE) Shirva was held on Tuesday 29 June 2021.

The inauguration ceremony of the first batch of Senior Secondary section of Don Bosco English Medium School, Shirva for the academic year 2021-22 took place on 29th June 2021 in the school audio-visual hall. The programme began by invoking God’s blessings. The dignitaries on the dais, Very Rev Fr Denis D’Sa, the correspondent of the school, Mr Ramray Patkar, president of Shirva Grama Panchayat, Mrs Gracy Jecintha Barboza, Guest of honour, Miss Myrtle L F Lewis, Principal along with the school management committee, and staff witnessed the programme. The students and parents were virtually present for the programme.

The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the honourable dignitaries followed by the teaching faculty of Senior Secondary section under the leadership of the co-ordinator, Rev Fr Rolwin Joy Ar**ha. Mrs. Gracy Jacintha Barboza, the benefactor launched ‘Students Welfare Fund’ for pandemic hit and needy students. The messages and wishes from Most Rev Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, the Bishop of Udupi Diocese and Very Rev Fr Antony Sherra, the secretory of CBE Mangalore, were virtually broadcasted. They congratulated the Correspondent, Principal and the entire staff for upgrading the school to senior secondary level.

“Yoga adds years to your life and life too your years”.

International day of Yoga 2021 was observed on 21st June 2021 at Don Bosco English Medium School, Shirva with much fervor and enthusiasm. The theme of International Yoga day 2021, “yoga for well-being” is much relevant for the present day, a motto which aligns to the current Covid 19 situation.

The program began by invoking Gods blessings. The Chief Guest Mr Lancy Corda spoke on the importance of Yoga and its benefits. In her Presidential address, Principal Miss Myrtle L.F.Lewis highlighted the origin and significance of Yoga. The Staff members performed various Yogasanas like Surya Namaskarasana, Thrikonasana and so on., under the guidance of Mr. Corda and his team. The performance of Yogasanas brought tranquility and relaxation to the minds of the participants.

Vanamahotsava Week celebration was held on 8th July, 2021 in the school premises.

In the absence of the students the day was observed by the Correspondent very Rev. Fr. Denis D’sa, the principal Miss Myrtle L. F. Lewis, the vice principal Mrs. Irine Cardoza, Fr. “Blessed by God for 38 years to motivate, care and sinpire.”On the auspicious day of 16th April 2021 filled with the blended emotions reverting to the thoughts of old memories and feeling of gratefulness to the Lord for having blessed us with the special moment the school staff along with the Principal, Correspondent, Guests and Alumni gathered to bid adieu to Mrs Irene Rodrigues who rendered 38 years of dedicated and fruitful service in Don Bosco English Medium School, Shirva.
Mrs Irene Rodrigues expressed her experiences in the journey she had witnessed in thepast 38 years. She lauded all the Correspondent who she came across in her journey of helping the school to its present glory. She also wished the present Principal Miss Myrtle LF Lewis to lead the school into new heights.

As per the guidelines of Fit India Mission 2020, Don Bosco English Medium School, Shirva, had organized “Fit India Cyclothon” on 18th December, 2020 to create awareness on fitness, through cycling. At 9:00 a.m. under the guidance of Physical Directors of the school Mr. Sujith Shetty and Mr. Vishwanath K, the event began with a short prayer with the presence of 40 students. Very Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa, Correspondent of the school, Rev. Fr. Rohan Dias, Assistant Parish Priest of Our Lady of Health Church and alumni of the school Capt. Joshua Rodrigues, First Officer in the Merchandile Navals, Ms Myrtle L F Lewis, Principal and the staff of Don Bosco gathered at the church premises to witness the event.
