Press Release:
"Not even a Single Lecturer in GHSS Ladda, Students' future is at stake"
11/09/2022: Activists of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) visited Government Higher Secondary School Ladda, which is situated at a distance of 75 KM from district HQ Udhampur in Zone Panchari of Moungri Tehsil. The ABVP activists Avinash Sethi(National Executive Council Member and Divisional Organizing Secretary, Udhampur-Doda Division, ABVP) and Ashfaq Ahmed(Former District Convenor of ABVP) were on one day visit to GHSS Ladda to hear about students issues. During interaction, students discussed the problems being faced by them in the School.
Mohammad Kaif, a 12th class student, said that there are total 12 subjects allotted to 11th and 12th class students by Education Department but unfortunately, "Not even a single lecturer is posted in GHSS Ladda". The ongoing session was started in April 2022, but no lecturer is posted till today, the result of which students' future is on stake.
He also said that Commerce subject is not available in our school, due to which every year, a number of students are forced to leave their homes and get shifted in district HQ to study commerce. Also, there is no Playground in our school, due to which students couldn't do their practices and hence students don't get chances to participate in inter school, district level or higher level sports competitions. There is No Library, No NCC, No Science Laboratory in the school. In 2011, the foundation stone for a "multipurpose laboratory" was laid down and construction was started 11 years ago, but till today that building is under construction as no doors, no windows, no light and no fans are installed.
Moreover, there is a strength of more than 250 students in the school with 12 different classes but only 05 rooms(02 rooms of under-construction laboratory and 03 other rooms out of which one room has one unsafe wall) are available for 05 classes. Students of other 07 classes use to attend their lectures on an open ground but in summer and on rainy days they are unable to attend the classes in open.
The school is situated at a distance of about 2 km from main road and student use to cross a number of nallahs to reach the school. But during rains, when floods come, students could not cross these nallahs and they return back to their homes which ultimately affects their studies.
Some other students who shared the problems being faced by students of GHSS Ladda were Vishali Devi, Arti Guleria, Vishali Guleria and Anita Devi.
Students also demanded for Boundary wall around the school since there is 80-90° slope on three sides which creates insecurity among the children. The condition of Toilets is worst and unhygienic for boys as well as girls.
ABVP demands from Cheif Education Officer (CEO) Udhampur and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Udhampur that all these problems of students of GHSS Ladda must be resolved immediately in interest of students to save their future.
