🌟Awareness Programme on Child Protection Issues Held Across Tea Gardens in Udalguri🌟
On 8th May 2025, the Udalguri District Administration organized a comprehensive Awareness Programme on Human Trafficking, Child Labour, Child Marriage, and other child-related issues, in collaboration with the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Udalguri, and MRSD NGO.
With active support from various Line Departments and Stakeholders—including CWC, JJB, Child Helpline 1098, ROSS Children Home, DLSA, BCCC, Education, Health, Social Welfare, Labour, Police Department, Tea Garden Management, and ROSS NGO—the programme was conducted at Krishna Sushaibini Tea Estate, Suola Tea Estate, and Bhergaon Tea Estate.
The initiative aimed to raise awareness among tea garden communities about the dangers of human trafficking, the legal implications of child marriage and child labour, and the available support systems for children in need. Resource persons from different departments shared valuable insights, while Child Helpline 1098 spread awareness about its free 24x7 emergency services.
Such collaborative efforts reflect the commitment of all stakeholders toward ensuring a safe, protected, and empowered environment for every child in Udalguri.
