The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) were created by the Indian Government with the aim of identifying the brightest intellectual talent available in the student community of India and training it in the best management techniques available in the world, to ultimately create a pool of elite managers to manage and lead the various sections of the Indian economy. IIMs play a leading role in th

e nation's managerial manpower development in addition to carrying out research in emerging areas. These Institutes are recognized as premier management institutions, comparable to the best in the world for teaching, research and interaction with industries. As role models for other Indian B-Schools, they have shared knowledge and skills to improve the quality and standards of management education in India. IIMU started off with its PGP Programme with a batch of 58 students in a temporary campus located at Polymer Science Building, Mohanlal Sukhadia University (MLSU), Udaipur. The new campus for IIM Udaipur will come up in 253 acres of land in the Balicha area of Udaipur, Rajasthan which has been allocated by the Government of Rajasthan for this purpose. Shri C.K.Birla, Chairman of Hindustan Motors Ltd., India, was appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Governors for IIM Udaipur while Prof. Janat Shah, formerly with IIM Bangalore, was appointed as the Institute's Director. IIM Udaipur currently offers a Dual Degree Post Graduate Programme for Executives in Global Supply Chain Management in collaboration with Purdue University's Krannert School of Management, a Management Development Programme for Women Entrepreneurs and a Summer School Programme for Future Leaders in Development, in addition to the flagship Post Graduate Programme. Over the next few years, the Institute would also offer Doctoral Programmes and Faculty Development Programmes. IIM Udaipur aims to set a new benchmark in the field of management education and research by delivering a high quality of education through the dissemination of knowledge. Set in the picturesque backdrop of Udaipur, one of the busiest tourist attractions in India, the Institute strives to roll out a curriculum that will be utmost in-line with industry with a special focus on global business practices.

IIM Udaipur was delighted to host the 9th edition of Analitica - the Annual Analytics Summit conducted by Technalytics, the Analytics and IT Club of IIM Udaipur. The summit centered around the theme "The Next Decade of Business - What’s the Next Big Innovation?"

The first speaker, Mr. Murari Ramuka, AI Technology Strategist/CTO at Microsoft, spoke on "When the Algorithm Gets an MBA," explaining how AI is shifting the MBA's role toward strategic allocation. Citing examples from Indian enterprises, he reassured students that AI removes repetitive work, not human value, and shared an "AI Ladder" framework for adoption and governance.

The second speaker, Mr. Nitin Gupta, VP Data, Analytics, and AI at Mastercard, spoke on "Leadership in the Agentic AI Era," describing AI's shift from answering questions to running workflows as digital employees. He encouraged leaders to delegate full outcomes and pair growing agent autonomy with strong guardrails and compliance.

The third speaker, Ms. Alka Pandey, Data Science and AI Leader at Unilever, spoke on "The Next Decade of Business with Tech and AI," stressing that speed in sensing and acting drives advantage. She noted AI fails due to bad data, not bad models, and called on students to treat AI as a teammate while keeping human judgment central.

The fourth speaker, Mr. Nishant Kumar, AVP of Digital Product and Innovation at PVR INOX, spoke on "Decipher the Organization," encouraging students to treat every interaction as a negotiation and understand businesses with founder-level depth. He emphasized that mastering detail and grasping what a business is and what it is becoming is key to using AI effectively.

The summit concluded with a panel that explored the dual dimensions of artificial intelligence: its evolving role in the workplace and its transformative reach across society. Speakers emphasized that while AI is driving leaner, smaller teams, human expertise remains indispensable. Looking beyond the workforce, the panel highlighted AI's profound societal potential in aspects such as democratizing education and empowering farmers.

IIM Udaipur was delighted to host Mr. Abhishek Rao, Senior Consultant and Mr. Vivaan Gupta, Consultant at Samagra Governance, for the latest session of Netratva - The Leadership Talk Series on Governance Masterclass. Through the session, Mr. Rao introduced students to Samagra’s journey from constituency development to governance consulting, highlighting how the state can enable large-scale transformation through technology and systems.

The speaker introduced the Governance Challenge, aimed at sensitizing postgraduate students towards governance and social impact. He explained the Governance Matrix, mapping issues across political salience and system capacity as Comatose, Sleeping Giants, Shooting Stars and Battle Ready with examples including women’s safety, India Post, Sarva Shiksha and UPI.

Mr. Gupta shared his journey across Agricultural Credit, sustainability, AI for productivity and Public Health emphasizing the importance of developing deep domain knowledge despite not being a specialist. He also highlighted his progression across these domains from 2023–24 to 2025–26.

The speakers concluded by highlighting the Mission Framework: rigorous monitoring, field motivation through goal clarity, system inputs and outcome tools, followed by repeated communication. Their insights demonstrated how structured frameworks and continuous learning can translate governance challenges into scalable impact.

IIM Udaipur was delighted to host Mr. Mussarat Hussain, Head - Human Resources, Suzuki R&D Center India Private Limited, for the latest session of Netratva - The Leadership Talk Series. The session explored leadership competencies, people management, and the skills required to meet corporate expectations in a rapidly evolving business landscape. He guided participants towards practical insights into building resilient organizations and leading effectively through change.

Mr. Hussain highlighted that disruption, geopolitical shifts, and changing workforce demographics demand leaders who can adapt and inspire. He emphasized that technical expertise alone is insufficient, as managing people is essential for long-term success.

The speaker explained that competencies form the foundation of effective leadership and provide a common framework for success within organizations. He emphasized that while core values remain constant, professionals must adapt their behaviour to different organizational cultures and expectations.

Mr. Hussain concluded by encouraging students to identify competency gaps, embrace continuous learning and unlearning, and develop the leadership skills needed to thrive in today’s VUCA world.
