The Student Council of Annammal College of Education for Women celebrated
International Youth Day on the theme “Influence of Youth in the Digital World” on
12.08.2024 at 2.00 p.m. in Shengabamoorthi Hall. The vice-principal presided over the
function and highlighted the importance of empowering young people. The students
gave a dance performance on the topic “Natupura Kalaikal” and prepared a short
film on the topic “Seed for Change” and it was telecasted to all. Finally, an awakening
Mime was portrayed by a group of students.
At the end of the celebration, all the participants realized the Theme “Youth Digital
Pathways for Sustainable Development.

A session on Teach Grammar with Ease was held on 21/08/2024. Mrs.M.Chandan, Founder of Gurukula Language School and an alumna of our college trained the students of Pedagogy of English on how to teach Grammar in an easy and interesting way. She has demonstrated teaching Tense in English grammar making use of the classroom context which helped the student trainees to understand simple techniques in teaching grammar effectively.

Ms.T.Gayathri, has presented on Effective Usage of English Instructional Material - Pre Practice-Teaching Guidance on 08/07/2024 for the benefit of Pedagogy of English students. The session highlighted the effective ways of preparing and using instructional material in an English classroom to keep the students engaged.

A session on The Art of Questioning was held on 07/08/2024. Dr.S.Rasul Mohaideen, Formerly Associate Professor of English of VOC College of Education served as the resource person. He spoke on framing effective questions to kindle the attention of students. This session helped the students to write their lesson plans and to get prepared for practice teaching.

The resource person for the session is Adv.Rtn.V.Subachini Wilson. She shared inputs through stories on strategies to be followed while going for their intensive teaching practice.

To commemorate the 132nd birth anniversary of Dr.S.R.Ranganathan, the father of Library Science in India, the Library Committee of the college celebrated 'National Librarian's Day on 12.08.2024. Prizes were distributed to the winners of the National Librarian’s Day competitions held on 29.07.2024.
