Capacity Building Workshop on Outcome Based Education (OBE) under NEP-2020

SPACES Degree College (Autonomous) successfully organized a Capacity Building Workshop for Faculty on “Outcome Based Education (OBE) under NEP-2020: CO-PO Mapping and Their Attainment Calculation under Autonomous Framework” on 14th May 2026.

The workshop aimed to strengthen faculty understanding of Outcome Based Education (OBE), curriculum planning, CO-PO mapping, and attainment calculations under the autonomous framework, in alignment with the objectives of NEP-2020.

We were privileged to host distinguished resource persons from St. Joseph’s College for Women (A), Visakhapatnam — Dr. P. Mary Anupama, Head & Assistant Professor, Department of Biochemistry; Dr. E. Harini, Selection Grade Lecturer & Head, Department of Zoology; and Dr. P. Rosina George, Assistant Professor in Zoology.

The sessions were highly informative, interactive, and meticulously delivered. The resource persons explained every aspect of CO-PO mapping, attainment calculations, and OBE implementation with remarkable clarity, simplifying complex concepts through practical examples and insightful discussions.

A total of 34 faculty members actively participated in the workshop and benefited immensely from the enriching sessions, gaining practical insights and enhanced understanding of OBE practices.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the esteemed resource persons for their valuable guidance and commendable efforts in making the workshop highly impactful. We also sincerely appreciate the Management and Principal of SPACES Degree College (Autonomous) for their continuous commitment towards faculty development and academic excellence.

Clean & Green Drive as Part of Andhra University Centenary Celebrations

Date: 17th April 2026

SPACES Degree College (A), Payakaraopeta, organized a Clean & Green Drive on 17th April 2026 as part of the Swachch Andhra Pradesh – Swarna Andhra initiative and the centenary celebrations of Andhra University. The program was conducted with the objective of promoting environmental awareness and encouraging responsible civic behavior among students.

The drive was led by NSS Program Officers Mr. G.T. Naidu and Mr. P. Bhaskararao, who guided the NSS volunteers and ensured the smooth ex*****on of all activities.

All Volunteers actively participated in the drive with great enthusiasm. The activities included campus cleaning, sapling plantation, and awareness campaigns focusing on waste segregation and the importance of reducing plastic usage. The initiative reflected the students’ commitment to environmental sustainability and social responsibility.

The program also highlighted the vision of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, emphasizing the role of collective action in nation-building. Through slogans, posters, and active involvement, students contributed meaningfully to spreading awareness about maintaining a clean and green environment.

The event not only enhanced the cleanliness and greenery of the campus but also instilled a sense of pride among participants for contributing to a socially significant cause during the historic centenary year of Andhra University.

The program concluded successfully, reinforcing the importance of community participation in building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable society.

Rally Celebrating Centenary of Andhra University - 17.04.2026

SPACES Degree College (A), Payakaraopeta, organized a rally in Payakaraopeta to celebrating the centenary of Andhra University. The event was conducted with the objective of honoring the university’s remarkable legacy and its contributions to education over the past 100 years.

A total of 150 students and 20 faculty members actively participated in the rally. The participants marched through the main streets of Payakaraopeta with great enthusiasm, holding placards and raising powerful slogans such as “Saluting 100 Years of Academic Brilliance!”, “Andhra University – Our Pride, Our Inspiration!”, “Celebrating the Past, Inspiring the Future!”, and “100 Years Strong, Forever Inspiring!”

The rally created a vibrant and energetic atmosphere, drawing the attention of the public and spreading awareness about the glorious journey of Andhra University. Faculty members guided the students throughout the event, ensuring discipline and active participation.

The program concluded successfully, leaving the participants with a deep sense of pride and respect for Andhra University’s century-long legacy of excellence.

Beyond Books: Inside the Banking World
(Field Visit to HDFC Bank 17.04.2026)

The Department of Commerce & Management Studies of SPACES Degree College(A), Payakaraopeta, organized an educational field visit for BBA and B.Com students to HDFC Bank, PL Puram Branch, Visakhapatnam, on 17th April 2026. A total of 70 students participated in the visit as part of their field-based learning initiative.

The primary objective of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to banking operations and to enhance their understanding of financial services. During the visit, the bank officials warmly received the students and conducted an informative session on various banking concepts.

The session covered important topics such as types of bank accounts, payment systems, and different modes of transactions. Students were also introduced to the wide range of services offered by the bank. Special emphasis was given to creating awareness about banking risks and frauds, along with the safety measures and preventive strategies adopted by banks.

Furthermore, students gained insights into modern banking practices, including the use of advanced software and AI-driven banking services, which play a significant role in improving efficiency and customer experience.

The visit was highly interactive and provided students with an opportunity to clarify their doubts and relate theoretical knowledge with real-world banking practices. Overall, the field visit proved to be an enriching and valuable learning experience.

The session was effectively conducted with the support of the bank staff. We extend our sincere thanks to Mr. M. N. Empowering Future Leaders at SPACES Degree College
(A Transformative Seminar on Personality Development and Leadership – 16th April 2026)

An awareness seminar on personality development and leadership qualities was conducted at SPACES Degree College (A), Payakaraopeta, on 16th April 2026. The program was organized for first-year students with the objective of enhancing their understanding of essential leadership traits and personal development.

The seminar was graced by Mr. Ramesh Batavia, Master Business School Coach from Salahakar Learning Academy, Bengaluru. Mrs. Asha Jain, a coach, soft skills trainer, and entrepreneur, also accompanied him and conducted a session for another batch of students on the same topic. Students actively participated and benefited from the expert guidance.

The program was conducted in four sessions to ensure effective interaction and learning. In the morning, two sessions were handled by the experts for different batches, followed by two more sessions in the afternoon, making it a comprehensive and engaging event.

During the seminar, the speakers elaborated on key leadership qualities required for personal and professional success. They emphasized the importance of courage, effective communication skills, self-confidence, empathy, and continuous skill development. The resource persons also shared ten important principles for leadership development, including appreciating others, positive response, developing a questioning attitude, politeness, respect, clear expression of thoughts, supporting others in difficult times, understanding others, maintaining good health, discipline, and continuous learning.

The sessions were enriched with practical examples and interactive activities, which helped students gain deeper insights into personality development and leadership.

The program was attended by the Joint Secretary of the institution, Sri Ch. Vijay Prakash; Director HR, Dr. V.V.S.B. Bangarraju; Principal, Dr. A.R.K. Reddy; IQAC Coordinator, Dr. A.K. Tripathy; Vice Principal, Sri P.Ch.V. Subbarao; along with other faculty members.

Overall, the seminar was highly informative and successful, leaving a positive impact on the students and motivating them to develop strong leadership qualities and work towards their personal growth.

Leadership programs build confident, skilled individuals who can effectively handle real-world challenges and lead with responsibility. The management of SPACES Degree College is commendable for organizing such a valuable and enriching event for student development.
