Aizawl became a town in the year 1890. The city is famous for its lively culture, which comes mostly from the Mizo people. It’s an important place for the Indian Presbyterian Church. Aizawl is where the Mizo New Year festival known as Chapchar K*t takes place. The Durtlang Hills and several beautiful streams are also in the city.
