Kite Flyers Trivandrum Kite Flyers Trivandrum As part of the Grand Kerala Shopping Festival 2011, a kite-flying contest is being organised on the northern beach of Kovalam on Sunday.

It is being organised in association with The Kite Flyers, Radio Mirchi, Kite Life Foundation Ernakulam, NGOs of Kovalam, and MBA students of Lourdes Matha College of Science and Technology. Its aim is to spread the message of environmental awareness and persuade the tourists to ‘Think Green'. The event includes kite workshops and a ‘Clean Kovalam Drive' and will conclude with a live band show. Th

e contest would choose the best kite, best message, and the best flyer for attractive prizes. Meaningful educational kites can be made with different combination of colours to educate children and young people. Kites with social messages like ‘Protect Your Environment', ‘Grow More Trees' can educate people on the benefits of a clean and pollution-free environment. Flying of kite is one of the best low-budget recreations, clean and safe entertainment which helps in recovering physical as well as mental fatigue in the shortest possible time.
