Onam Celebration 2026 - A Day of Tradition and Togetherness
Onam, the festival of harvest, equality and prosperity, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervour at our school premises.
The campus was transformed into a festive haven, reflecting the true spirit of Kerala's most cherished festival.
Highlights of the Celebration:
1. Athapookalam - The Floral Carpet
The celebration began with the creation of a magnificent Athapookalam at the school entrance. Students brought flowers and worked together to design intricate, colourful patterns symbolizing unity in diversity.
2. Thiruvathirakali - Grace in Motion
Our students presented a graceful Thiruvathira dance around the pookalam. Dressed in traditional attire, their synchronized steps to the traditional Onam songs captivated the audience.
3. Vadamvali - The Spirit of Teamwork
The energy rose with the traditional Vadamvali (Tug of War). The students competed with great sportsmanship, cheered on by teachers and students alike.
4. Mahabali's Visit - The Grand Entry
The most awaited moment was the majestic entry of Mahabali.
His visit brought immense joy to the children everyone, reminding us of the golden era of truth and equality.
5. Payasam Distribution - Sweetness Shared
The festivities concluded with the distribution of sweet payasam to all students and staff, spreading happiness and the message of Onasadya.
The Onam celebration was not just an event, but a beautiful lesson in culture, teamwork and tradition for our students.
