Road Safety Awareness Event at HSS Lurgam 🚦🚦🚦🚦

A successful Road Safety Awareness Event was organized on 12th of May 2026 at HSS Lurgam with the aim of spreading awareness about the importance of following traffic rules and promoting safe driving practices in Jammu & Kashmir. In today’s fast-paced life, road safety has become a major concern, and such initiatives play a vital role in educating students and the community about responsible behavior on roads.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and staff members who worked together wholeheartedly to make the programme meaningful and successful. Various awareness activities highlighted the importance of wearing helmets, using seat belts, avoiding over-speeding, and respecting traffic regulations to save precious lives.
Team of SDRF also participated in the event demonstrating the critical first aid procedures.

HSS Lurgam remains committed towards creating responsible citizens and promoting awareness for a safer society.

A warm and memorable Farewell Party was organized in the Higher Secondary School premises for the outgoing Class 10th students, hosted with great enthusiasm by the Class 9th students.

The event was marked with, heartfelt speeches, and expressions of gratitude by class 9th students.
The outgoing students shared their memories and expressed their gratitude towards the school and teachers for their constant guidance and support.

The Principal sir , in his address, blessed the students and motivated them to work hard with dedication and sincerity in their future endeavors.
Teachers also extended their best wishes for the Board Examinations and for a bright future ahead.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by the organizers, followed by refreshments.

The farewell was not just a goodbye, but a celebration of cherished memories and the beginning of new journeys for the Class 10th students.

NOTICE : All the students of Class 11th & 12th are hereby informed that the submission of examination forms will commence from 15th September 2025 (Monday). The prescribed examination fee is as follows:
Rs 1700 plus Subject with external Practical Rs 100 each subject.
Students are directed to ensure the submission of their forms on or before 20th September.

Candidates with additional subjects 5+ are required to pay an extra amount of Rs 255/-

Furthermore, all students are hereby advised to carry a photocopy of their Class 10th & class 11th marks sheet along with one recent passport size photograph.

Farewell Function in Honour of Retiring Lecturer of Commerce

The staff and students of HSS Lurgam today bid an emotional farewell to Mr Abdul Ahad Langoo, Lecturer in Commerce, on the occasion of his superannuation after rendering distinguished service in the field of education.
The Grand farewell function was organized in the School Auditorium, where the Principal, faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students gathered to pay their tributes. The event began with the recitation of the Verses from The Holy Quran followed by Naat -i-Pak and heartfelt speeches highlighting the remarkable contributions of Ahad Sir during his tenure.

In his career spanning over 35 years, Mr Ahad Sir has been an inspiring teacher, mentor and guide to countless students. Known for his dedication, simplicity, and passion for teaching Commerce, he not only imparted academic knowledge but also instilled in students the values of discipline, sincerity, and hard work.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal of GHSS Lurgam, Mr Gh Rasool Naik Sir, lauded the services of Ahad Sir and acknowledged his role in strengthening the institution. Colleagues remembered him as a supportive and cooperative team member, while students shared their gratitude for his approachable and motivating nature.
In his farewell speech Mr Ahad Sir expressed deep gratitude towards the institution, colleagues and students for their love and support throughout his career. He emphasized the importance of education as a tool for empowerment and urged students to pursue excellence in their chosen fields.
The function concluded with a vote of thanks and presentation of mementos as a token of love and respect. The day marked not only the end of a distinguished career but also the beginning of a new chapter in the life of Mr Abdul Ahad sir !
